Sara Ali Khan Debuts A Blue Lip For A Casual Day Out At The Beach. We Love Her Bold Choices For Lip Colours
My Instagram feed these days seem deserted and empty. Mostly, because I follow a lot of beauty and fashion pages that don’t have the spice anymore. Reason? The lack of opportunity for the celebrities to dress up and doll up (thanks to the pandemic) which eventually snowballs into a major dearth of stunning looks, especially in Bollywood. If you ask me, before the pandemic also, there were only a few B-town celebrities who seemed to enjoy experimenting when it came to their beauty and fashion looks. Otherwise, it was mostly boring AF with the same ol’ nude lips, smokey eye and sleek hair (yawn!). *cough* Katrina Kaif *cough*
Of the handful of celebrities who did serve us eccentric beauty looks to swoon over, one was Sara Ali Khan. Her Instagram page is proof that she loves herself some peppy looks featuring bold colours, a decent mix of trends and her own personal brand of quirk. And seems like the pandemic hasn’t stopped her from experimenting with her beauty choices.
Sara posted a picture on her Instagram account today posing in the deep blue sea (okay, sadly it wasn’t so blue), you know, a casual day on the beach. What caught our eye was the moody blue lipstick she wore…no let me rephrase that, pulled off with aplomb with her white tee and denim shorts. Now, this doesn’t surprise us mainly because she has been dropping these stunning, totally experimental makeup looks ever since she stepped into Bollywood. This isn’t even the first time she wore a blue lipstick, to tell you the truth, but on a beach day? Now, that’s a beauty revolution IMO.

It seems blue has been her go-to colour lately to paint her eyes and lips alike. One look at her Instagram feed and you could tell that the girl is all about beating corona blues with her stunning makeup. Just a few days ago, she posted a pool-side photo with blue-rimmed lower lashline and looked pretty as a peach. Totally stealing this look for my next pool party, which is probably going to be sometime in 2022.

She often plays up her eye makeup with a mix of colours and textures too. Sometimes it’s a bunch of glossy pastel colours packed on her lid, other times it’s bright and electric shades in matte. I am guessing she picks her beauty looks depending on her mood which I think is great.

She never ceases to impress us with her experimental beauty choices. While her style statement could some extra help (sometimes, they are a fashion miss), there’s no doubt her beauty looks are on fleek. And, as a self-proclaimed beauty buff, I love her looks are equal parts quirky and aesthetic. Remember when she created quite a stir in the beauty circle with her blue lashes.
She singlehandedly popularised the coloured lashes trend which propelled beauty brands to come up with coloured mascaras. She is a true beauty queen and her Instagram is a page out of a beauty catalogue. Honestly, I love taking beauty notes from her looks. They are always so fresh and vibrant, just like her personality. She comes across as someone who’s fun, lively and enthusiastic about life and that reflects in her super quirky beauty looks as well.

The last time she wore a blue lipstick, it wasn’t quite a hit. She chose a deeper shade of blue which was edgier but less practical. Plus, it didn’t really go well with her outfit, a very touristy look with a puffer pink jacket. But I think she put it on for fun anyway so let’s forget that. Another time she rocked a moody lip colour was when she wore a grey lip gloss for a Puma ad. Honestly, I don’t think anyone else can pull off these unusual lippers like her. Even this beachy look with a sporty outfit teamed with an ink blue pout looks incredibly gorgeous on her.
