Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Estranged Wife Aaliya Siddiqui Filed An FIR Against Him For Rape And Cheating

Lately, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been making the headlines for all the wrong reasons. While he continues to maintain a stoic silence about it, his estranged wife, Aaliya Siddiqui / Anjana Anand Kishore Pandey has imposed some serious allegations against him and his family. From stripping her off her self-dignity to molestation, her accusations against Nawazuddin have only gotten more alarming. And now Aaliya has filed an FIR against him for rape and cheating.  

Unfortunately, our country does not recognize marital rape. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t as vile as any other form of rape. The accusations levelled against Nawazuddin Siddiqui by his wife are extremely serious. Here’s a little recap of what has happened until now. In May, Aaliya decided to serve Nawazuddin with divorce papers. In a statement, she claimed the reason to be that she was stripped off all her self-respect and was made to feel extremely alone in that marriage. And then she alleged that Nawazuddin’s brother Shamas molested her. With every development, this case kept taking disturbing turns. 

Now, Aaliya has lodged a complaint accusing Nawazuddin of rape and cheating. The Versova police station has acknowledged the complaint and is now looking into the matter.

Aaliya’s lawyer issued an official statement that read, “My client had submitted a detailed written complaint to Versova Police Station for Rape, Cheating and Deceitfully causing cohabitation by inducing her a belief of lawful marriage, under sections 375, 376 (k), 376 (n), 420 and 493 of the Indian Penal Code against Mr Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Hopefully, the F.I.R will be registered soon.”

This is horrifying. We are glad that Aaliya left a marriage where she was mistreated but this accusation is just disturbing. 

In response to these allegations, Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s brother, Shamas came to his defence. Just a little reminder, he is the same man that allegedly molested Aaliya. Him defending Nawzuddin is like the blind leading the blind. Anyway, he took to Twitter to confirm that he wasn’t hiding due to these accusations and that his brother is innocent.

Shama’s tweet read, “I was never on the run, I was out for my next film’s recce & in regard to the false complaint against me, it has been stayed by the Hon’ble Bombay High Court. The complaint against Mr Nawazuddin Siddiqui is also false & will be heading to Hon’ble BHC for this too.” 

That is a very weak argument compared to the charges. However, does anyone else find it weird that instead of Nawazuddin defending himself, his brother is doing that? Look, it’s not up to us to decide who is telling the truth or what punishment should be imposed upon Nawazuddin Siddiqui and his brother. It’s our job to support the woman who has been wronged and spread her story. 

I hope that if found guilty, Nawazuddin and his brother are prosecuted for their crimes.
