Madhuri Dixit Shares Her Effortlessly Natural Makeup Look. Psst, It Takes Less Than 15 Minutes!
Being a pro at basic makeup and being able to fix and touch up on-the-go is practically in the job description of celebrities. After spending a few years in the limelight and hours sitting in the makeup chairs of the best makeup artists in the business, they become competent enough to do their own makeup, at least for small events and meetings. Because, obviously they don’t hire an MUA every time they need to glam up for petty outings. Even if they don’t particularly learn makeup skills and techniques, they observe and take away a thing or two (which is second nature to actors). So, when Madhuri Dixit Nene, who has been in the showbiz for nearly four decades now, shared a video of nailing a natural everyday makeup effortlessly, it really didn’t come as a surprise to us. However, we were really pumped up to take some makeup notes from the OG beauty queen of the 90s.
Madhuri Dixit’s every makeup is as simple and natural as the actor herself. It isn’t complicated or takes too many products to cheat her look. In fact, she uses the most basic makeup products and gets done in less than 15 minutes. We think this makeup look is perfect for busy women who are always in a rush and can’t squeeze out an hour to do their makeup. Also, if you are makeup minimalist, you are going to love this tutorial because she literally just enhances her features and makes them pop with makeup. She also shares awesome tips along the way. Throughout the video, she stresses on sticking by the rule of ‘less is more’. She said you should always start out with less product and build up on it with another layer if you feel the need to do so.
Madhuri Dixit started off with moisturising her face and applying an under eye cream. This is an important step as it keeps the makeup from drying out your face and gives a smooth finish. She waited two minutes for her skincare products to get absorbed before moving on to her base makeup. She applied some concealer under her eyes and blended it with a brush. She said she uses a makeup palette to take the product rather than applying it directly on her skin, which I think is a brilliant tip to ensure hygiene, especially in the times of Covid. After blending a very little amount of concealer under her eyes, she took two pumps of her foundation and dotted it on her face for even application. She blended it well and finishing off her base makeup with a dust of translucent powder.
Next, she did her brows. She brushed them and filled in for a defined look. For eye makeup, she used a brown eyeshadow to simply create a crease of her lid and blended for a natural look. She lined her eyes with a brown gel eyeliner which she smudged along her upper lash lines using an angled brush. She used a brown eyeshadow for a smudged line look on her lower lash line, though. She kept it all very minimal and reminded us to use less and build up later. She completed her eye makeup with oodles of mascara. But before that, she curled her lashes very carefully so with an eyelash curler. She used some blush on the apples of her cheeks and enhanced her lips with a shade similar to her natural lip tone. She lined the lips for definition and filled in.
The little tips Madhuri Dixit gave while doing her makeup regarding strokes and motions you should be using are also note-worthy. She uses circular motions for foundation, upward strokes while using the mascara wand and tapping motion for the eye cream. This is probably the easiest and quickest way to score a natural, no-makeup makeup look. And, coming from the
