Priyanka Chopra’s Red Carpet Looks For BAFTA 2021 Were Bold And Experimental But So Unflattering

Priyanka Chopra is one fearless woman, whether it is films and fashion that requires her to take risks. She has been experimenting with her looks quite a lot lately and opting for avant garde styles, offbeat silhouettes and truly daring fashion. Be it a low cut gown that went all the way down to her belly button or a bold backless dress in bright orange, she takes fashion risks like it’s NBD. She has seemingly become quite comfortable with debuting unconventional looks which may or may not be liked by everyone and might cause a stir but that’s just her style. For this year’s British Academy Film Awards, or BAFTA as you may know them, PeeCee wore two looks that were far from the usual red carpet outfits. But did we really like them? Erm! Hard to say. Chopra can pull off anything but we are not really sure we like her BAFTA looks.

She wore two completely different styles for the two-day event that took place in London over the weekend. Although the looks are pretty striking, they don’t strike the right chords. Something clearly was amiss here with the busy designs and unappealing fits we noticed in the looks. However, we love the fact that she is always experimenting with her style and chooses the boldest of styles. Plus, both her outfits were sustainable so full points to making a statement for green fashion at the global red carpets. Also, hair and makeup was fab. She styled her hair in a bubble ponytail with curtain bangs and a red lip for both looks which totally got our attention. Let’s break down her BAFTA looks. Here is everything we liked (and didn’t) about her Priyanka Chopra’s recent red carpet looks at the 2021 BAFTA.

Priyanka Chopra should be declared the official style ambassador of plunging necklines. We would find a million low cut dresses and blouses that flatter her cleavage. The first look she wore was this all-black outfit by Ronald Van Der Kemp which featured a silk jacket with a deep cut neck, puffed up shoulders and a hand painted, beaded and pleated butterfly motif adding the burst of colours. She wore a black plissé skirt from the same label which was pretty form-fitting and didn’t balance the structured jacket and made the overall silhouette look a bit strange, IMO. The only thing we liked about this look is it is upcycled from the designer’s previous collection’s leftover materials and the colourful butterfly isn’t too bad. HMU, as we already discussed, looks fab with the outfit.

The second look was more vibrant and definitely more risque than the previous one as PeeCee went braless and wore an unbuttoned jacket to the red carpet. When it comes to style, she has no inhibitions and that’ what we love about the star. However, while the red embroidered jacket with a closed neck is gorgeous, we aren’t too sure if it’s working for her frame. The relaxed silk trousers are chic and we love them. This outfit from Pertegaz too is sustainable and makes a strong case for ethical couture. Also, we absolutely love how she wore a beaded turquoise necklace strategically placed on her cleavage underneath the blazer.
