On Valentine’s Day, We Don’t Wear Red! Here Are 5 Outfits That Are Cool And Sexy, But Not The Standard Red

As soon as February begins, the phrase ‘let’s paint the town red’ gets a whole new meaning. By who? By brands and people in love alike. Almost all stores and shops are dressed in reds and pinks and so are the love birds who flock together to celebrate February 14th. Since red is the sexiest and the most sensual colour of all  and also branded as the colour of love, which the day is solely dedicated to, women usually opt for outfits featuring the same shade for their date night. However, if it’s too cliche and cheesy for you to wear a red dress, there are a bunch of other options that are equally sexy and cute, but most importantly, not the same boring red.

By wearing colours other than red on V-Day, you aren’t breaking any fashion rules, or love rules, just to be clear. In fact, it would be refreshing and cool especially if you and your SO aren’t big on the lovey-dovey stuff. You can pick a sultry outfit, which doesn’t have to be red to be sexy, hell, it doesn’t even have to be a dress. You can wear a strappy top, mini skirt and other trendy outfits that say date night but don’t scream Valentine’s Day. Here we have curated some really sexy outfits that are not red but fancy and cute as hell. Wear these on Valentine’s day, and maybe save red for some other non-cliche, but extra special date night.

If there’s anything colour that’s hotter than red, it’s black. Plus, it’s so versatile. It can be a perfect party colour, sexy enough for a date night and casual for the day too. However, the key is to do it right. Most girls would go for an LBD on V-Day but you could play it differently by wearing a cute mini skirt, turtleneck top and thigh high boots–all black. Throw on a sexy leather jacket over it if you’re going out in cold.

Pink still says V-day but not in your face, at least. So if you want to play by the theme but not overdo it, pink is your colour for the day. Plus, if you’re heading for a dreamy and romantic date night overlooking the skyline, you could wear a floral maxi dress in pastel pink with a plunging neckline that’s equally pretty and feminine as a red dress.

Nothing says sexy like sheer, see-through fabric, form-fitting silhouette and a colour like nude. You know where I am going with this, don’t you? This gorgeous bodycon dress with gathered details and bardot sleeves could give any jazzy red dress a run for its money. I don’t even need a date to wear this dress. I could simply go on a galentines date wearing this bomb of an outfit.

Again, your Valentine’s outfit doesn’t have to be a dress. Surprise your date with a shimmery strappy crop top and cute leather pants. If you aren’t much of a girly girl, you will love this outfit. It makes you look dressy without ever putting on a dress. That’s what we live for. Pair it with high strappy heels and huge hoops.

Another very unconventional yet refreshing colour to wear on V-Day is white. If you believe in defying the tired cliches, you can’t go wrong with this one. Break the fashion monotony this Valentine by dressing in a completely contrasting yet ravishing white dress. Opt for a bandage dress for maximum hotness quotient and a neckline that can’t be missed.
