5 Ways To Oil-Proof Your Makeup Through The Humidity
Oh, this godforsaken weather, it truly wreaks havoc on your skin and makeup. One second I’m all selfies and celebrating my gorgeous #motd, and the next, I’ve stepped out and it’s all melting, right in front of my eyes! It’s the worst, right?
Weather like this requires a few extra tips and tricks. Luckily, I’ve got a few up my sleeve. Spend that extra minute or 2 incorporating this into your makeup routine for a long-lasting makeup look!
Opting for a beautiful makeup look on an important night out? Start at the skincare level with a deeply cleansed face. Use a gentle face scrub to set your skin for makeup.
2. Ice Ice, Baby!
Take ice, wrap it in tissue, and run the cold cubes all over your face around 10-15 minutes after you’ve applied moisturiser, and right before you apply primer. This will seal your pores and decrease oil excretion for the time being. Just dab your face dry after and apply primer.
3. The Right Primer
Use a matte primer, especially for oily skin. Primers are important, as they set the base for your entire makeup routine.
#HauteHack: Once your makeup is completely done, take some of the primer again, and dab it on your t-zone. Remember to take very little product.
4. Powder It Up!
Instead of opting for a compact powder, bake your makeup in with a translucent powder, with a no-shine finish. Take a sponge and dab the powder the spots on which you’ve applied concealer, and to your t-zone. Let it sit for a couple of seconds and then dust it off using a fluffy brush.
5. Dab, Dab, Dab!
Carry a few tissues with you at all times. They make for the best blotting papers! If you see your skin oiling up, just fold one in half, and dab (don’t rub) the oily areas.
