This Lazy Girl’s Guide To Makeup Is LIT!
While we can’t wait to get to the weekend to party hard, a little mid-week revelry never hurt anyone; except the trudge to work the morning after — the too-little-shuteye coupled with too-much-drinking nights that we are all too familiar with! No matter what, showing up at work looking haggard is inexcusable. You don’t have to wear a full face of makeup to look presentable because these makeup hacks are tailor-made for those lazy-girl days. All you need is one key product to work these looks and you are gold!
1. Lilac Haze
One of the most underrated colours, purple is one cool-toned hue that goes surprisingly well with even warm Indian skin tones. When you use the right shades for your skin tone, it has the ability to brighten your skin, bring out your eyes, and make you look like you are glowing with health. I especially love this trio from Shiseido that has a range of shimmery lilacs. Use the lightest one for rushed mornings to make your eyes look awake and pack on the colour to take the look from boardroom to an evening out with friends.
2. Siren Red
I say when in doubt bring out the tube of fiery red lipstick. Red is one of those attention-grabbing colours that distracts from all other faults. One swipe of an intense, budge-proof lipstick will see you look well put-together and out of the door in under three minutes. PS: throw your hair in a sleek top knot to finish the power look! 3. Spider Lashes
Most of us have spent years to master the technique of applying mascara without clumping our lashes. And even though we can do it in a fraction of a minute now, I would say don’t bother separating your lashes anymore because spider or clumpy lashes is actually THE thang right now! Apply at least 3 coats of mascara without wiggling your wand (’coz that separates the lashes). To really clump your lashes apply a last coat only to the tips of your top and bottom lashes using only the tip of your wand. Here’s an expert tip to get it right.
4. Bring That Blush On
Don’t underestimate the power of blush. If I had to pick one makeup product that can single-handedly infuse life in a tired face and make it glow with health, then it would hands down be my bottle of blush. When I haven’t had enough shut-eye and look like the walking dead, a good fuchsia-toned blush is my saviour. If it’s the only thing you are going to be wearing, make sure you pick a bright hue like a hot pink or a berry-toned blush. We are obsessed with these kickass blushes.
5. Gold Rush
When time is gold (no pun that), bring out your booty of golds. Use a highlighter in gold on the high points of your cheek bones, brow bones, forehead, and nose, to channel a bronze-goddess vibe. It warms up your complexion in the most subtly sensuous manner. Or line your eyes with an eye pencil in gold and smudge it with your fingertip to brighten them and make them pop. Not really comfortable with the colour? Start off simple by applying it only to the inner corners of your eyes and blending it thoroughly to soften the edges.
