How To Ace Sonam’s Striking Red Lip-Gold Shadow Combo
The Hello! Hall of Fame Awards saw a slew of celebrities giving us stellar evening looks. But the one who stood out in the makeup department was Sonam Kapoor. She looked striking in her fiery red Naeem Khan gown from his Spring 2016 collection, which she paired with a bold red pout, gold eyeshadow, and wavy hair.

Here’s how you can cop her look:
Prep: Use a sheer luminising moisturiser like Colorbar Spotlight Illuminating Lotion which will make your skin glow. Let the moisturiser sink in and then apply L’Oréal Paris Base Magique Transforming Smoothing Primer to prevent your makeup from budging.
Base: Start by applying Revlon Photo Ready Air Brush Effect Make Up on the centre of your face and blend it outwards using the Real Techniques Foundation Brush. Use Freedom Bronzed Professional Pro Bronze to contour your cheekbones. Suck your cheeks in, place your brush around the middle of your ear and drag it under the cheekbones about midway across your cheek. Contour the sides of your nose and jawline as well. Add a hint of blush to your cheeks with L’Oréal Paris Lucent Magique Blush in Blushing Kiss.
Eyes: Dab some gold eyeshadow from the Lakme 9 To 5 Eye Quartet Eyeshadow all over the eyelids right up to the crease. Apply some on the inner corners on the lower lid as well. Use Inglot Liquid Eyeliner in Black to line your upper lashline. Start from the centre and go thicker around the outer edges to draw a kitten eye. Curl lashes and apply two coats of Colorbar Zoom & Whoosh Mascara. Fill in brows with L’Oréal Paris Brow Stylist Plumper Brow Mascara.
Lips: Line your lips with Colorbar Definer Lip Liner and fill them in with L’Oréal Paris Pure Reds Color Riche Collection Star Lipsticks in Pure Brick.
If you look closely, make-up artist Namrata Soni has done a considerable amount of body contouring and highlighting on Sonam’s decolletage, which is a good idea when you’re wearing a low neckline dress. Here’s a video to show you how you can do it as well. While contouring the body, it helps to use contouring and highlighting sticks because of the ease they offer.
