Rock The Glossy Makeup Look. Here’s How!
One of the biggest makeup trends this season is glossy makeup. The trend is perfect for your Kira-Kira selfies and needless to say, it is insanely pretty. Go away shimmer, it’s gloss all the way now! Highlighters are taking the backseat. It now subtle and more muted. Matte lipsticks are being replaced by good ol’ glosses.
As for our lids, glossy makeup has taken over. with more than 30,000 posts under the hashtag #GlossyEyes on Instagram. However, glossy makeup is not the most wearable trend ever. I mean, it could look like you forgot to blend some eyeshadow away. But you want to wear it and we heard you. We made it into a more wearable look that you can carry off.
STEP 1: Start by filling in your eyebrows
Define your face by filling in your eyebrows. Since everything else is going to be very glossy and shiny, the eyebrows need to be stark to frame your face.
STEP 2: Contour your eyes
In a glossy makeup look, defining the shape of your eye is extremely important. Use a brown eye shadow in your crease to contour your eyes.
STEP 3: Apply Base Shade
For the next step, apply a metallic rose gold eye shadow as the base. You can apply any colour that you are working with. This is an extremely important step as it sets the base for the gloss.
STEP 4: Top it up with glitter
Next, apply a little bit of loose glitter on top of this base. If you guys want to skip this step, it’s okay. Skip over the next one. To apply the loose glitter, use the warmth of your ring finger. Using your finger will melt the product in, and it is much more seamless compared to a brush.
STEP 5: Add that glossy touch
Finish this look off with some good ol’ gloss on your lids. Yes, you can use your lip gloss for this! You can make it multi-task.
STEP 6: Glossy Lips
For those of you who think glossy eyes are a bit much, you can do glossy lips. Just like the eyes, your lips will also need definition. Start by drawing an outline of your lips with lip liner. Then, fill in your lips with gloss.
STEP 7: Add Gloss To Your Skin
A great way to add sheen or gloss to your skin is with highlighter. Make sure you use a cream-based highlighter, so it really melts into your skin. It looks great when light hits the high points of your face.
