Priyanka Chopra Gets Candid About Her Beauty Regime

Priyanka Chopra Gets Candid About Her Beauty Regime

That Priyanka Chopra is making waves on American shores is no secret. She’s always been our favourite desi girl even before she hit it big outside. What’s more, we’ve always loved her no-fuss beauty and makeup game, so when she was recently interviewed by The New York Times on her beauty habits, naturally we were all ears!

What I found most endearing though were PeeCee’s thoughts on beauty; she mentions that she’s always had people doubting her acting abilities thanks to her unconventional looks, and now she’s “proving to them that beauty shouldn’t have anything to do with your ability to tell the story. It’s important for actors to be chameleons. Beauty is just one aspect.”

Keep scrolling to know more about her skincare routine and favourite products from the NYT interview.

Kiehl's Daily Reviving Concentrate_Hauterfly

Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate (Rs 3,500)

The best time to start caring for your skin is…

…the night before. Priyanka says that no matter how tired you are, you must remove all remnants of makeup before you go to bed. (Try this hack if you are dead tired; it always works.) She double washes her face using Chanel Intense Brightening Foam Cleanser, followed by MAC Green Gel Cleanser because of the amount of makeup she wears while at work. (You can also use a cleansing oil followed by a cleanser for a thorough clean-up.) She also double moisturises, since her skin is dry. Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate and a cream by Tatcha are her current favourites, which she tops up with StriVectin Under-Eye Cream.

Diptyque Body Lotion (Rs 3,840)

Favourite skincare products

Here’s where Priyanka is just like all of us. She picks up most of her beauty products after she reads about them in magazines or of they’re recommended to her by make-up artists. Also, she’s quite experimental when it comes to products since she likes to try new things. For her body, she uses Bio-Oil, a Diptyque Body Lotion and a sunscreen from Shiseido. The jet-setting star is on top of her skincare game and knows what her skin needs. Her answer to jetlagged skin? An SK-II Facial Treatment Mask.

A skincare tip that never fails

Using a DIY mask made from fresh yogurt and turmeric powder. While yogurt moisturises skin, turmeric heals it.

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation_Hauterfly

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation (Rs 3,568)

No makeup makeup

While it’s no secret that Priyanka isn’t really fond of wearing makeup on a day-to-day basis, she uses Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation under her eyes and a lip balm or lip stain by Laura Mercier being her brand of choice.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Perfect Brow Pencil_Hauterfly

Anastasia Beverly Hills Perfect Brow Pencil (Rs 1,548 approx)

Lips over eyes

While Indians are obsessed with playing up their eyes and lining them with kohl, Priyanka is not a fan of eye makeup and steers clear of the smoky eye look if she can help it. She likes keeping things fresh with some YSL Mascara and an Anastasia Beverly Hills Perfect Brow Pencil. She confesses to not being very meticulous with makeup and uses her fingers to apply and blend them in. The only product she uses a brush for is Chanel Powder Blush in Rose Ecrin, a colour that looks very natural on her. When she really feels like it, she prefers wearing a bold lip with matte lipsticks from MAC in colours like Lady Danger, Candy Yum Yum, Ruby Woo, Russian Red and Studded Kiss, and NARS Dolce Vita.

Dolce & Gabbana the One_Hauterfly

Dolce & Gabbana the One (Rs 3,899)

Favourite fragrance

Priyanka loves fragrances, and her current favourites include Dolce & Gabbana the One and Diptyque L’Ombre dans l’Eau. “I’m a big fan of Diptyque, which I discovered at duty-free!” she says.

Oribe Shampoo for Brilliance and Shine_Hauterfly

Oribe Shampoo for Brilliance and Shine (Rs 5,196)

Tress talk

Priyanka has thick, wavy, typically Indian hair and she has her grandmother’s good old coconut oil champi to thank for it. She loves shampoos and conditioners from Oribe because of how lovely they smell and how glossy they make her hair look.
