4 Easy Steps To Getting Deepika Padukone’s Stunning Look!
Once again, Deepika Padukone has hit the nail on the head with her classic makeup look, which she wore at the Giants Awards 2016 this weekend. Spotted in an off-beat Sabyasachi ensemble, Deepika Padukone’s entire look might have been a little OTT for me, but her makeup was on point. The mauve smoky eye, fresh and silky skin, and satin red lip is something that you can definitely attempt during this season’s festivities. This isn’t surprising, because it was celebrity makeup artist Daniel Bauer who worked his magic on Deeps. Her go-to-makeup maestro, Daniel is known to transform our favourite celebrities for red-carpet events and parties. He gives us tips and tricks on how you can achieve this stunning look for your next big do!
“Makeup trends come in cycles — one season matte lipsticks are the ‘In’ thing, 6 months later it’s all about the gloss. My trick is to stick to the satin lipstick space — it’s a little bit of matte and a little bit of gloss rolled into one. This will always keep you bang in the middle of the beauty trend curve. With this in mind, I opted to give Deepika a deep-red satin lip colour. For the skin, I mixed a hydrating serum into my foundation and applied it sparingly, which helped achieve a very fresh and silky skin texture.
“For the eyes, I used several different shades of two products, a brown kajal, and a mauve eyeshadow palette. Apply the brown kajal on the inside of the lower lash line and a slightly stronger application on the upper lash line, and smudge it softly into the mauve eyeshadow, blending thoroughly. Finish the eyes with a double helping of mascara on the upper lashes. With Sabya’s dress being so opulent, I kept the hair sleek, straight, and simple.”
Do you want to get this makeup look too? Well, that’s what we’re here for. Hauterfly breaks down DP’s look for you with our recommended picks.
1. Base: Sparingly apply the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation to your skin, while mixing a smidgen of a hydrating serum, such as the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Serum into it. Blend it in with YBP Makeup Perfector Sponge, making sure application is even all over your face and neck. The hydrating serum allows you to achieve a silky, satin-esque finish, keeping the base clean.
2. Eyes: Keeping the smoky effect going, use the Maybelline’s Color Sensational Eyeshadow in Rose Quartz Pink for your lids. Use the darker colour for the outer V of your eye and lighten the shades as you go towards the inner corner. The key here is blending! Blend in the eyeshadow properly, so that the shading is on point, and blends in to create a mauve-ish colour. Lightly line your lower lash with Inglot’s Kohl Pencil in shade 03 (brown) and create a slightly stronger effect on the upper lash line, blending into the shadow. Lastly, double coat your upper lashes with a girl’s best friend — the trustworthy mascara. Our pick would be L’Oréal Paris Volume Million Lashes.
3. Lips: For a bold lip, use a deep red lipstick with a satin finish. Line your lips with Revlon Colorstay Lip Liner in Maroon and fill them in with a red, such as Lakmé Enrich Satin in M422. Another option would be to colour in your lips with the liner and then add a sheen of the lipstick to it, to give it a satin finish.
4. Hair: Since the entire face is bold and strong, let your hair down straight. You could also finish the entire look with a stylish slick-back and add some lustre to it by spritzing on some Toni&Guy Glamour Moisturising Shine Spray.
