#MyQuarantineLook: I Did A Summer Makeup Look And Here’s How You Can Recreate It. Psst… It’s Easy.
Summer season is finally here and let me tell you that I am not enjoying the sweaty season. While some may sit in their shorts with their legs spread across the table, I enjoy doing my makeup while sweating it out. Hey, it’s almost like a workout! Makeup does take a lot of effort so I will continue to acknowledge this as a fitness routine I do every alternate day. If you are wondering where do I think I am going with all that makeup? Well, to the damn kitchen to stuff my face with the last of junk food my mother hid.
To be honest, doing your makeup is the most satisfying and relaxing thing ever. It helps me cover up all the negativity that’s around me with my very amazing foundation. Highlight the important parts of my face just like the people in my life and so on. So, I decided to do summer look for my next makeup look and if I may say so myself; it looked fantastic. And if you are keen on trying out the look then I will write down the products I used and you can recreate the look 😀
Remember that the first step to an amazing longlasting makeup is to prep your skin first. I used the Colorbar Oil Primer that has a pump wand which makes it easy for me to take just the perfect amount to drop over my face. Even though this primer is oil-based it definitely doesn’t make my skin oily and gives me the kind of glow that will make you jealous.
My foundation throughout these looks will be constant as I have just this one that perfectly matches my skin. It’s the BollyglowFilmmi Foundation in the shade Cappuccino. I have been using this foundation for some time now and it’s the best one. I swear by this product as it gives instant coverage without making my makeup look cakey. Also because literally this is the only foundation that’s my colour. Everything else is too pink, orange or white.
You also probably know my love for the Wet N Wild products and especially their photo focus concealer. I thought of not using this all by itself and maybe mix it with a lighter shade. I happen to have the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer that is not my shade. I basically looked for my shade on their website and chose what they suggested but nope. So I mixed these two up and came up with a colour that’s just perfect.
Sugar cosmetics is an Indian brand that retails its products at an affordable price. I have the ‘Blend The Rules’ palette – Warm Neutrals. A perfect palette with all the warm colours and glitters suitable for a summer makeup look. I used the orange shade from the palette and a tad bit of golden shade.
For the dramatic wings, I used the sugar cosmetics Eye Warned You So! Liquid liner. The texture is so smooth and the wand is so easy to hold on to. I love it! Don’t want to set #eyelinerGoals and make you feel inadequate but I nailed it!
Blushes and I never don’t really get along. It’s either too much or too little; there is no in-between. But then I got the Nars Orgasm blush that gives me the perfect amount of blush and glow in just a swipe. Since this absolutely amazing product is not available in the Indian market I had to sell my soul to the devil to get one. Now, I have no soul but gosh, I am gorgeous.
PS: Nars store is open in Duty Free.
For that extra oomph, I used the Sugar cosmetics contour palette that consists of 3 pans (contour, blush, and highlighter). Their highlighter is to die for. I ended up dipping my face in the highlighter and got that beautiful glow. There is no such thing as too much highlighter. So, don’t @ me pls.
And lastly, I used a maroon shade to complete my look. It is a Maybelline sensational liquid matte in the shade soft wine. I have always loved maroon and this is just the perfect shade that goes with my look. And that’s it. This is how you can experiment with makeup while you have your butt parked on the couch.
