This Hair Mask Promises To Colour Right Back Into Your Hair. Does It Work?

I don’t want to make you people feel bad but I am having fabulous hair days. I am having the kind of days that women in movies and sitcoms have. If I were making a play for someone, you would spot me with a hair dryer in my hand, singing into it but also strategically placing it so that my hair flies gently and frames my face at the same time. Don’t judge me, you know you’ve done this. Anyway, at the risk of sounding like an informercial, my hair wasn’t always this way.

When the lockdown started, a year ago, the stress, the anxiety and pretty much everything, was causing my hair to fall out quite a bit. Then, over time, it got better but it certainly wasn’t great. In November, closer to my birthday, I got my hair coloured a brilliant, flaming red. It looked amazing. At least I thought I did. And then, as all hair colour does, mine started to fade as well. I didn’t mind it, it didn’t look bad. But red can be a tricky hair colour, it often fades into a brown. It’s the period between the red and the brown where it starts to look bronze-y and brass-y and not in a nice way. I was starting to look a lot like a person who makes Tik Tok videos for a living and that’s not a good look on anyone.

There are some other exciting launches you should look at too!

So when the people at MoroccanOil said that the brand has come out with a new colour depositing mask collection, I was intrigued. And I wanted in. I got my hands on the shade bordeaux, that’s the one for red hair and I couldn’t wait to try it. This product is supposed to infuse the faded colour back into your hair and I was keen to get out of my Tik Tok look, so I was raring to go.

The product details out how you should use this. Once you’re done with shampooing your tresses, you have to towel dry it, section out your hair and generously apply the MoroccanOil colour depositing mask collection. Then you’ve to run a wide-toothed comb through your locks. You now have 5-7 minutes during which you can mull over your life choices, overthink work things, and all that. 7 minutes later, you rinse out your hair and wrap it up in a towel like they do in commercials.

On wet hair, you can’t really see the colour but once it dries out, the product does leave a lovely hue in the hair. Now, my hair colour is a lovely rose gold shade and I absolutely adore it. I even got compliments from a hair stylist saying that the colour was pretty. What I also particularly enjoyed was the fact that this colour depositing mask also provides deep conditioning so my hair not only looked refreshed but also felt really soft and manageable.

Overall, this product is worth investing in if your colour is fading into all sorts of weird colours and you want to keep the tints you had.
