You’ll Never Go Wrong With THIS Celeb Makeup Trend!

By  |

Celebrities love it, and with good reason. It’s hard to go wrong with the monochromatic makeup trend. It’s all about matching your lips to your eyes and cheeks, somewhat. It doesn’t have to be super match-y, just shades of the same colour.

It could be just your eyes and lips, or just your lips and cheeks… But the reason this fad is here to stay is that using similar shades is always a makeup do, a trend that can look good on anyone.

Makeup pros are loving the monochromatic makeup look and are recreating these looks on celebrities all the time! Instagram artists are also posting, both, simple and complicated versions of the look. So if you’re looking for makeup inspiration this holiday season, here goes…

1. Deepika Padukone

Deepika graced the cover of Filmfare‘s December 2017 issue. Her makeup look, created by Sandhya Shekhar, is extra monochromatic, if that’s even a thing. From the brown hues in her hair, to her eyes, brows, and her strong contour, everything is all about neutral browns. Stunning, isn’t it?

2. Alia Bhatt

Alia’s makeup artist, Puneet B Saini, knows that pinks bring life to Alia’s adorable face. She opted for nude-pink lips, and a wash of salmon pink around the eyes. Plus, she’s wearing a very light wash of pink blush on her cheeks. Who knew all-pink could look this subtle?

3. Sonakshi Sinha

Makeup artist to the stars, Nileysh Parmaar, created this soft, nude-peach look on Sonakshi Sinha. Her cheeks, lips, and crease eyeshadow feature peach-y tones for an overall understated look that we’re crushing on.

4. Disha Patani

During a shoot for Maxim magazine, makeup artist, Flavia Giulidori gave Disha Patani an airbrushed look with copper tones. Her eyes, cheeks, and lips, feature orange-brown tones that give Disha a major sensuous vibe.

5. Olivia Culpo

The makeup god, Hung Vanngo, adds a dash of purple to Olivia Culpo’s subtle smoky eye. Her lips are a different oxblood shade of purple, but together with that eye… this is one hell of a makeup look!

6. Kylie Jenner

Kylie keeps it all glitter and gloss for the release of her holiday collection. Hrush Achemyan, one of the Kardashian-Jenner clan’s favourite makeup artists, created this monochromatic look for Kylie’s campaign and it’s truly stunning!

7. Jacqueline Fernandez

And finally, Jacqueline Fernandez graced the cover of ELLE India, with makeup by her favourite, Shaan Muttathil. The look features a whole lot of red: tints of red in her hair, glossy red lips, and a halo eyeshadow look with hints of red too. Absolutely gorgeous, we say!

Our beauty writer is also an amazing makeup artist (check out some of her awesome videos on the site!). This skincare enthusiast is also a bonafide globetrotter and boss babe.
