Matte But Not Dry! 5 Lipsticks Your Pout Needs Right Now
Some combinations are just difficult to find. Like a job you love that pays you well. Or a phone that’s in your budget, and takes great pictures. Or a dress that fits like a glove, but is still flattering on the lumpy bits. We feel you, girl!
That’s why when we thought about doing an article about matte lipsticks that won’t dry out your lips, we had to do a bit of rummaging through our makeup kits. Okay, a lot of rummaging. Because, let’s admit it, finding a matte lip product that doesn’t dry out the lips like the Sahara, is a tall ask. But we aren’t the ones to give up easily; we powered through.
Here are our top 5 picks for matte lipsticks that will leave your lips feeling as supple as ever.
Lakme 9 to 5 Matte Mousse Lip and Cheek Color (Rs. 575)
A budget-friendly option, this product comes in a texture that is like mousse. It’s lightweight, goes on easy, and offers some decent pigmentation. And it does all this while not leaving your lips parched, so it’s good news all around.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream (Rs.600)
The NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream liquid lipsticks have been a favourite with women everywhere. Not only are they super affordable, they’re also available in an interesting range of shades. While they aren’t exactly scoring brownie points for being long-lasting, the SMLCs are great for when you are looking for great pigment without your lips abandoning all hydration. Yay!
Revlon Ultra Matte HD (Rs. 1195)
This product has the word ultra matte in the name, so we were a little wary. Turns out, our fears were unfounded. This product delivers pigment in one swipe, stays put at least for a couple of hours, and doesn’t dry out the lips. The shade range is pretty interesting too, but we are drawn in by the promise of moisturised lips.
Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme (Rs. 1050)
This drugstore brand boasts of some pretty great products, but the Amore Matte Lip Creams caught our fancy. And with good reason. The most important one being that our lips don’t feel like a desert after we wear them. These lip creams are also pigmented and long-lasting, so that’s a plus.
Clinique Pop Liquid Matte Lip Colour + Primer (Rs. 1650)
Like the name, the colours on this product definitely pop. And it’s nice to your lips, keeping them hydrated and moisturised. It has the usual pinks and nudes, which are staples in our makeup bag, and looks pretty great on the lips also. We approve!
