The Strobe Cream Zahra Is Bringing In The New Year With

It’s Christmas Eve and the big New Year’s Eve bash is not far away — yay! This year has been exceptionally filled with both highs and lows, and I can’t wait for 2016 to come to an end. Of course, the idea is to celebrate all the milestones and look forward to a fun new beginning. And if you’re a beauty junkie like me, you’re bound to be thinking more about how your makeup is going to look on the big night rather than your outfit, yes? So the one thing that’s definitely going to be in my beauty kit this season is the MAC Strobe Cream.

If you don’t know this by now, MAC just launched online shopping in the country via Nykaa — and the entire #HauteSquad did a little happy dance in the office when we got the announcement. Among the many, many favourite products I love from the brand, my most recent purchase has been the Strobe Cream and I have to say it’s amazing to the next level — especially if you’re all about skincare first.

MAC Strobe Cream

MAC’s Strobe Cream is touted as the ultimate quick fix for dull, tired skin, and I have to say it really does work like a charm. Super charged with potent botanicals and antioxidants like green tea and jojoba seed oil, and  this luminising moisturiser may be sold as a liquid highlighter in India, but it has some seriously amazing skincare benefits too. And who doesn’t like double-duty products that don’t just make your skin look good but feel good too?

If you have dry skin, use this over your moisturiser or blended in with your favourite foundation. And if you’re an oily-skinned girl like me, use it after your primer to avoid any greasy complexion issues. The combination of antioxidants and iridescent particles results in radiant, glowing skin that looks refreshed and healthy — like you just stepped out of a facial appointment at the spa. I love how it adds some subtle luminosity to my skin, making my favourite matte foundation look not-s0-flat and reflect just enough light, especially in all those group selfies!

The product is available in four shades: Pinklite (the original strobe cream), Goldlite, Silverlite, and Redlite. And while the product is definitely pricey, consider it one of those investment buys that you’ll be using for a long, long time to come. There are several ways to use it — as a moisturiser that gives you a dewy glow (especially on days when you want to go makeup-free), as a primer (if you have dry to normal skin), or as a liquid highlighter (to be used on the high points of your face to give it some dimension). It truly is a quick fix for dull skin, making your face look fresh and vibrant for any big occassion!
