LFW 2016: Get Big Wavy Hair Like The Models At Masaba Gupta’s Show

The continuing hair trend for 2016 is natural and lived-in texture, which is a blessing. I can’t deal with hours of flat-ironing my hair into (damaged) submission anymore. But that doesn’t mean I don’t change things up in the mane department a little bit from time to time. I’ve always loved curly hair, so obviously I loved the curly-wavy texture that the models sported in Masaba Gupta’s pretty show, courtesy hair and make-up pro Namrata Soni. Check it out:

I like that they are not as tight as spiral curls nor are they loose, beachy waves. The defined wave pattern is to die for and I was quite surprised these weren’t made from a curling wand. The big, wavy hair was courtesy hair pins! Yes, U-pins were used to get these waves and I’ve found a video tutorial to show you how you too can get this wavy splendor.  Start watching at 1:10 for the step-by-step procedure.

Pro Tip: Start watching at 1:10 for the step-by-step procedure. Don’t freak out over the zombie apocalypse style makeup here — the hair tutorial is actually pretty detailed and shows you exactly how to achieve this look.

Although the vlogger uses a flat iron to set the curl pattern, you can also try this without heat. All you have to do is start working on damp hair and wind each section around the prongs of a U-pin. You will need 4-5 hours to set it, though. So it’s best to try the heatless procedure before bedtime. A word of caution: If you are going to use the flat iron, do not dampen your hair. Ensure that hair is completely dry or you’ll only end up frying your hair!
