Editor’s Pick: Mansi’s Moisturising Face Scrub
I’ve always been non-fussy when it comes to hair and make-up. I don’t have the patience to deal with it. However, the one thing I really care about is keeping my skin clean and healthy. After years of thinking that I have dry or combination skin, I recently got to know that I in fact have oily skin thanks to a tête-à-tête with our beauty writer Bushra Khan. After going through a my-whole-life-is-a-lie kind of feeling for 24 hours, I had to learn how to look after my oily skin better and decided that certain changes in my skin care routine had to be made.
So I switched to Biotique Bio Morning Nectar Lotion and have been on the hunt for a suitable face scrub ever since. The problem with most scrubs is that they leave your skin a little stretchy afterwards. I need something that effectively exfoliates the dead skin cells without leaving my skin feeling parched. I prefer using organic products over chemical-laden ones, which brought me to Kama Ayruveda’s Kumkumadi Brightening Ayurvedic Face Scrub. Actually it was Kumkumadi Oil, the star ingredient in this product, that caught my eye.
Kumkumadi Oil has been hailed as a miraculous beauty fluid in Ayurveda. Made of 12 rare ingredients, Kumkumadi Oil has the ability to smooth fine lines, illuminate the skin, and promote new cell growth. This scrub has walnut shell powder, which scrubs away dead skin without being abrasive since the granules are rounded and fine. The scrub also has Kashmiri Saffron, which has a brightening effect on the skin. I’m guessing it will help decrease my tan over time. The creamy scrub is also fortified with finely ground Sweet Almond which we know is rich in Vitamin E & D. The Sweet Almond is supposed to have a moisturising effect. I don’t think a scrub can get any better.
