I Tried The New Clinique BB Gel And It’s The Best Thing To Happen To A Lazy Girl

On any given day, my day can go two ways – I will get up, work out, apply eyeshadow with tapes and pounce on the foundation and look nearly like a vision. Some people (my friends say they’re delusional) say I look like an angel on those days. On other days, I will fall out of bed, the sheets still entangled in my feet, brush my teeth so that my breath passes society’s standards of decency, and get to work looking like something the cat dragged in. There’s no in between and I am sorry, you can direct all your barbed taunts towards the walls, for all I care.

So imagine my surprise at finding a BB cream that offers that in-between where I look like I made an effort and fake having clear skin. I stumbled upon the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing BB Gel recently and this one comes with customisation options. Like their moisturisers, which I think is a fab idea, by the way, the BB cream can also be customised to actually address skin problems you may have. I chose to go with the orange tube which promises to tackle my fatigue because god knows, I look like I need many, many hours of sleep. And maybe a vacation but apparently that’s too much to ask from a product.

 

Now, on the first go, when you put in the tube and shake it up and pump a bit out,  it might startle you a little. That’s because you’ve been told this is a lightly tinted BB gel and when you put some on your hand, this looks grey-ish and you think to yourself, ‘Wait, but I would like to look like I am alive.’ Yeah, I thought the same thing. But then I applied this on my face, and what do you know? My skin look like it had been lightly perfected. So wait, I didn’t look like a pale ghost – this gel adjusts to your skin tone- so you look like yourself, but better. Think of it like an Instagram filter, but for your face.

What I loved was that it practically disappeared into my skin, and did its thing without trying too hard. This product is like the cool girl at school, blending in effortlessly, while we stumble around, making clawing attempts to be accepted. Basically, what I am saying, on days when I am feeling like a used rag, this one makes me feel put together and that’s a lot of responsibility on a single product but hey, it delivers.
