Zap Those Pesky Zits In Two Easy Steps

Zap Those Pesky Zits In Two Easy Steps

I think we can all agree that zits are ugly. That, and the fact that they’re itchy and painful as hell. No matter how good you are with your skin care routine, sometimes unexpected pimples are just as unavoidable as bad hair days. However, before they grow into a red hot mess, there are things you can do to calm them down and stop them in their tracks. You know a zit is coming when a spot on your face turns red and itchy, with a slight bump to boot. That’s the time you want to catch it to prevent a full-blown blemish from rearing its ugly head on your face. Here’s how:

Step 1:
Soak a clean washcloth in hot water and hold it against the zit for 30 seconds. Repeat this a few times. Heat opens up your pores, and allows a spot-treating product to penetrate deeper and effectively treat below-the-surface zits.

Step 2:
Pick a topical product that has at least 10% benzoyl peroxide and apply a thin (really thin) layer on the affected area. Wipe off after an hour. Apply this twice or thrice a day. Try Clearasil Ultra Vanishing Acne Treatment Cream.

If you can’t get your hands on products containing benzoyl peroxide, dip a cotton ball in white vinegar or lemon juice and dab it on the pimple a couple of times.
