How To Nail Meghan Markle’s Manicure From The Royal Wedding
The royal wedding is done. Every single detail of the wedding has been dissected. From the designer the bride wore to the details of the veil, we have been hungrily lapping up all the information about the wedding. Meghan Markle made some very interesting choices, and some that were unconventional. Like walking herself down the aisle. But she also stuck to royal diktats for some of her picks for the wedding. Like her manicure. Yes, we are all about the details.
The royal bride flaunted a soft pink manicure, which was stunning. While the exact details of her manicure are yet to be known, the shade is not a dramatic departure from the royal favourites. The Queen tends to find colourful nail polish ‘vulgar’, and has been a patron of the shade Ballet Slippers from the brand Essie. A bottle of it is currently sold every two seconds, and in 2018 alone, almost 80,000 bottles have been sold.
While Meghan’s polish was a pinkish nude, it was probably not Ballet Slippers. In fact, in 2011, when Kate Middleton got married, her polish was a mix of Bourjois So Laque Nail Enamel in Rose Lounge (a very pale pink) and Essie Nail Polish in Allure, a beige polish Essie Weingarten created for the magazine, Allure.
Want a classic hue like the royal family for your nails? Here are the two we would pick.
This OPI polish in the shade Bubble Bath is supposed to be a dupe of Ballet Slippers and is available in India. *adds to cart*
This one from Nykaa called Summer Peach is an affordable, soft pink shade that is universal and flattering.
We are loving this from Maybelline that’s affordable and chic.
And this one from Colorbar that promises to make all our nude nails dreams come true.
And of course, this one from Sally Hansen that’s all things adorbs. Now only if I can find myself a prince to marry!
