#HauteHack: Got A Sunburn? Do This First

People with warm undertones tend to get sunburnt — and not tanned — when exposed to the sun’s rays for an extended period. If you’ve been on the receiving end of the sun’s fury, it’s only natural that you would want to soak yourself in an ice-cold bath ASAP. However, that’s not the most beneficial thing to do for your poor, weather-beaten skin. The first thing that you really should be doing is getting yourself a glass of milk.

No seriously, we mean it. Pour a glass of skimmed milk in a small bowl. Add some ice cubes to it and soak a washcloth in it. Wring the washcloth and apply it on the areas that are sunburnt. This is really the best way to treat sunburns because the proteins in the milk repair damaged skin. Also, skimmed milk works better than the full-fat version since it has a higher amount of protein in it as the fat has been removed.
