3 Steps To An Express Facial At Home

3 Steps To An Express Facial At Home

Imagine if you could get a facial at home, once a week, for a barely any money at all! How amazing would that be?

With all the dust, pollution, and makeup that gets on our skin, it’s important to do a thorough clean up every week or so. But, we can’t always spare the time and money to take a trip to the salon or dermatologist.

While this doesn’t replace what a professional can do in anyway, it will keep your skin glowing for yet another week.

#HauteTip: Don’t forget to test the routine or patches of the products you might use in this routine on your hand or a small part of your face. If you feel a burning sensation or see too much redness, then your skin might be too sensitive for this. Consult your dermatologist.

The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Cleansing Foam (Rs 590)

1. Cleanse

Use lukewarm water to cleanse your face with a gentle face wash. This is post any makeup removal routine that you need to follow because you can’t have even a speck of makeup on for this.

Work the product into your face, take about 30 seconds to do this for a full cleanse. Then, use a small towel or napkin, dip it in hot water (not warm, make sure it’s hot) and wipe your entire face clean with it. You want to make sure the water isn’t unbearably hot and that you don’t pull too hard when you wipe your face.

PIXI PEEL AND POLISH (Rs 2286)

2. Exfoliate

Now that you’ve opened up your pores. It’s time to exfoliate. Apply a chemical peel and work it into your skin for about 30 seconds, then leave it on for 3 to 4 minutes. If you’re using an overnight peel, then you may want to leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes.

And if you don’t want to use a peel. You can use a face scrub to scrub your face for about 3 to 4 minutes.

Post your scrub or peel, rinse it off with lukewarm water.

The Face Shop The Solution Hydrating Face Mask (Rs 150)

3. Sheet Mask

Serum, moisture, and mask in one step? Use a sheet mask and apply it to your face for about 15 minutes. A nourishing face mask will work best after the exfoliating routine.

You can finish up with your favourite targeted treatment (make sure this isn’t another peel), like a Vitamin C serum or undereye serum, and your daily moisturiser, if you would like to add a few steps.
