4 Really Simple DIY Blushes You Can Make At Home!

Who doesn’t want lovely rosy cheeks, especially when the weather outside is dull? While some of us are naturally blessed with blushed cheeks, others like me have to turn to blushes to help get that glow. And while there are some fantastic blushes out in the market, if you’re feeling broke right now you can totally make some at home. Done in minutes, homemade DIY blushes are safe for your skin and because they’re made with cream or powder, they help smoothen out your complexion too. Seriously, I cannot emphasise on how simple these DIYs blushes are!

What’s more, these blushes can be made out of just four ingredients already in your vanity or kitchen. Choose the one you like best and wear it like a boss. Then store them in a nice small container, next to your DIY lip balms.

1. BLUSH USING BABY POWDER

Baby powder not only gives a great texture to the blush but also leaves the skin extremely soft. Double bonanza, anyone?

Ingredients:

  • Baby Powder
  • Water
  • Red Food Colouring

Directions:

  • Mix 3 tbsp of water and food colouring in a bowl. If you want a light pink shade, use less colour. Similarly, the more colour you put in it, the darker the blush will be.
  • Slowly add the powder in and keep stirring.
  • When it has attained a soft clay-like consistency, put it inside a container.
  • Allow it to dry and your powder blush is ready.

2. BLUSH USING OLD LIPSTICKS

We all have lots of unused lipsticks that have crawled into the dark corners of our drawers. It’s time we reuse them to make a shiny new blush. You can choose whatever colour of lipstick you are comfortable with.

Ingredients:

  • Old lipsticks
  • Candle and matchsticks
  • Steel spoon
  • Scissors

Directions:

  • Cut the lipstick out using the scissors and place it on the spoon.
  • Light the candle and bring the spoon over it to start melting the lipstick.
  • You can also use any other source of heat that you want like a stove top but a candle is just less risky.
  • When it has melted completely, pour the liquid into a container. Make sure you don’t boil the lipstick.
  • Keep it in the fridge to cool and you are done!

3. BLUSH USING COLD CREAM

Never knew your little box of cold cream could be used to make a blush, right? Some people like their blushes powdery while others prefer cream. This is for those who are of the latter variety. Once you wash off your face after using this blush, it will leave a cool  and soft sensation on your cheeks that you will absolutely love!

Ingredients:

  • Cold cream
  • Lipstick
  • Candle and matchsticks
  • Scissors
  • Steel spoon

Directions:

  • Follow the same procedure mentioned in the previous point, till the time you have to pour the melted lipstick in the container.
  • While the liquid is still warm, mix the cream with it.
  • Cool it down and it is ready to use.
  • The more cream you add the lighter the shade of the blush will be.
