7 Tips For Flawless Hair This Festive Season

7 Tips For Flawless Hair This Festive Season

It is rightly said that you don’t need a crown when you have a gorgeous head of hair. Several women have been naturally blessed with smooth, beautiful tresses. For those like me, who were born with the kind of hair that frizzes for no good reason, haircare becomes an important and an elaborate process! If I had a rupee for every minute I’ve spent trying to fix my unruly locks, I’d probably be a millionare. *sigh*

However, now that the festive season is here, I don’t really have a lot of time to style my hair before stepping out of the house. My father will be ready with that loaded look that says, ‘Never on time’ if I enter the car even a minute late! So to combat such worries, which many of you may be facing as well, we’ve compiled a handy list of quick and easy haircare tips. For good-looking, manageable hair this festive season, all you have to do is follow these tips. The next time you’re in a time crunch, getting dressed for a night of revelry this Navratri or Diwali, you’ll be glad you read this.

1. Boost Volume

If your hair hangs loose and limp around your shoulders, but you were aiming for that sultry, bombshell look with voluminous hair, this is what you need to do. Flip your hair over, spritz a bit of hair spray on the roots and flip it back. If you don’t have any hair spray, olive oil works just as well. Once you’ve flipped your hair back in place, you can fluff it up from the roots and the temples, using the tips of your fingers. Voilà!

2. Freshly Shampooed Look

Haven’t had time to wash your hair before that get-together? Don’t worry. Tap some talcum powder onto your palms and dab it onto your roots. Work it through your hair using your fingers. After that, hand-scrunch your hair and shake it out. You will lose that dull, greasy look instantly! Nobody will guess.

3. Tangle-Free Hair

Tangles and knots are why many people opt for a short do instead of long locks. To avoid the mess and pain that come with these, make sure you brush out your hair before you head in for your shower. Instead of brushing your hair after a shower, do it beforehand. That way, the knots and tangles will already have loosened up and your hair will look smoother and neater.

4. Fix Frizz

I’m pretty sure that Frizzy Lizzy is not the look you’re going for! To get rid of that annoying frizz, use an anti-frizz serum and smooth it over your strands. However, if you have thin hair, you would do better with a hair spray, since using a serum or a lotion will leave your hair looking greasy and, thereby, thinner.

5. Get Killer Waves Overnight

Do you want to rock that gorgeous, wavy-haired look for the card party? You don’t need any tools, especially if you know that you’re not going to have too much time for them on the day. Simply braid your hair before you hit the bed the previous night. When you wake up the next morning, unbraid it for some super beautiful waves. Piece of cake, no?

6. Dry Your Hair Quicker

Using a blow-dryer is not always a good idea. Air drying is an option that several people opt for today. First off, step out of the bathroom as soon as you’re done showering. The humidity inside can wreak havoc on those tresses! Instead of rubbing your hair vigorously with a towel, blot it instead, as rubbing increases friction, causing your hair to frizz up. After that, let your hair dry of its own accord. Use a dryer ONLY if absolutely necessary.

7. Try A Low Ponytail

If you don’t have the time to perfectly style your hair, you could always opt for a sleek, low ponytail. This hairdo spells elegance, especially if you do it right.  You could even curl and leave out a few tendrils, for a fresh, flirty look. With your hair pulled back in a loose and low tail, make sure your makeup speaks up . However, don’t go overboard. A bold lip and a low ponytail make for the perfect combination.
