Get The Look: Deepika’s Sultry Smokey Eye From Raabta In 4 Easy Steps

Have you caught a glimpse of Deepika‘s latest? If not, you must, because as usual, she looks drop-dead gorgeous (seriously, when does she not?).

After her successful stint in Hollywood film xXx: Return Of Xander Cage, she’s back on the big screen in India! Spotted in the sensuous title track of the Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon starrer, Raabta, Deepika Padukone will just leave you in awe.

Strutting to the revamped Agent Vinod song, her poise and elegance comes across through her caged, hip-high slit gown and her smouldering look.

You know that once you’ve locked gaze with Deepika Padukone there’s no turning back, and I am talking about her both onscreen and off it. And it’s even better when she’s got a smokey eye going.

In this off-beat item song, Deepika’s makeup is focussed on her eyes, keeping the rest of her look rather nude — a look similar to the ones she sported in one of her previous movies, Cocktail.

But for amateurs, getting that smokey eye can go majorly wrong — either it can’t be seen or you just end up with panda eyes. So if you don’t have the time but want to get the smouldering DP look for your next night out, here’s a quick way you can achieve it in 4 easy steps.

theBalm Smoke Balm Smokey Eye Palette (Rs 1,099 )

STEP 1 — Shadow

After priming your eyelids, take an eyeshadow palette and pick out the darkest colour in the spectrum that you would like. Taking an eyeshadow brush, dust it onto the outer corners of your eyes, and intensify the shade as much as you like.

If you are a bit of an amateur and need a stencil, simply stick a bit of scotch tape on the sides of your eyes to pick up any residual fallout from the powder.

Take the middle hue and dust it on your crease, while blending it thoroughly with the darker shadow. Using a separate flat eye-shadow brush, take the lightest colour, and use it as a highlighter in the inner corner of your eyes and your brow bone.

The most important thing to keep in mind is to blend in all the colours together, so that they seamlessly create a gradient.

Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Pencil (Rs 1,950)

STEP 2 — Kajal

Using a kajal pencil, either deep brown or black, draw into the waterline, both upper and lower. Either using a soft angular brush or your fingers, buff out the line to soften the effect. At this point you can take off the tape — ’cause the work on your lids is done!

M.A.C. Extreme Dimension Waterproof Mascara (Rs 1,990)

STEP 3 —  MASCARA

Add a lot of drama to your eyes with an intense mascara — the smokey eye isn’t complete without some lash action, so make sure you layer up.

NYX Micro Brow Enhancer in Brunette (Rs 875)

STEP 4 — BROWS

This step is one you can skip if you want something subtle, but if you really want that absolutely intense effect, then go ahead and whip out your brow kit — a pencil will do in this case. Lightly fill in your eyebrows with a pencil, but make sure you don’t use something that is so intense that it looks fake.

With the brows, go for a deep brown shade, and slowly start filling in according to the natural shape of your brows. AND voilà!

Your smokey look is ready to hit the road — in just 4 steps! Swipe on some nude lipstick and a touch of cheek tint, and you paint the town red…or whatever colour you like, really.
