Daniel Bauer Breaks Down Jacqueline Fernandez’s LFW Runway Makeup Look

Daniel Bauer Breaks Down Jacqueline Fernandez’s LFW Runway Makeup Look

Jacqueline Fernandez sported a dual-toned smokey eye and a subtle winged liner on the Rajesh Pratap Singh runway during Lakmé Fashion Week 2016. It’s the kind of look that’s a beauty blogger favourite — it makes heads turn. Daniel Bauer, celebrity hair and makeup artist, the man behind the look, gives Hauterfly some first-hand tricks on perfecting this look. We’ve all read blogs and watched videos on ‘how-to get a smokey eye’ and ‘how-to do the winged liner’, but there are a few tips and tricks that can make all the difference.

Daniel believes that a soft smokey and a slight, wing-tipped liner can leave the audience speechless, and it’s a look that works just as well during the day as it does at night. It’s the opposite of a bold, statement lip. Use a neutral palette to create the soft smokey. This one’s created with coppers and browns. Blend a darker brown into the outer crease of your lids and work the blending towards your inner crease. As you can see with Jacqueline, the heaviest part of the eyeshadow is towards the outer part of her eyes. Then, use a lighter copper colour directly on your lids — the inner and middle part of your lids.

#HauteTip: Try the Lakmé 9 to 5 Quartet Eyeshadow palette — it has just the colours you need for this look.

Daniel added liner to this look but didn’t form a perfect wing — it turns slightly upwards at the end. He believes in keeping the liner imperfect and natural for a more on-trend look. This look works extremely well with eyes that turn slightly down on the outer corner — don’t trace the exact shape of your lids, turn the line upwards when you get towards your outer corner.

#HauteTip: The Lakmé 9 to 5 Impact Black Liner is highly pigmented and is user-friendly enough to create the wing tips.

Finish the look with faux lashes. Daniel believes that no smokey eye look is complete without dollops of mascara and a gorgeous pair of falsies.

#HauteTip: The Lakmé Eyeconic Curling Mascara will give you the long, enviable lashes you’ve always dreamed of.
