Ask any skin specialist about the one problem most women come to them with, and the answer will likely be dehydrated skin. Yes, parched skin is an extremely common issue, and one of the easiest to resolve as well.

The cure? A good, hardworking moisturiser, of course.

A lot of women I know in their 20s and 30s often skip moisturiser entirely, dismissing it as a vanity step that is entirely unnecessary. And they couldn’t be more wrong.

Whether you have dry, combination, or flat-out oily skin, everyone needs a solid moisturiser to keep dehydration at bay. Especially once you’ve hit your 30s, when ageing skin tends to look patchier as the years go by. Well-hydrated skin, on the other hand, always looks plump and glowing with a youthful vibrancy.

And if you’re in the market for a new moisturiser, look no further than Clinique’s new launch — the Clinique Moisture Surge Hydrating Supercharged Concentrate.

The water-gel hydrator claims to instantly quench dehydrated skin thanks to its intensely hydrating properties, and the lightweight concentrate hits the mark really well.

Housed in a transparent, plastic bottle with a pump dispenser, the gel is instantly refreshing and delivers lasting moisture without the greasiness or shine. The fragrance-free and oil-free moisturiser is perfect as a day moisturiser, and plays really well under a more emollient one, especially if you have dry skin and like to double moisturise.

If you have oily skin like me, this is really all you need for daytime hydration, especially in humid weather. It absorbs very quickly, and doesn’t leave a layer of moisture sitting on top of your skin. This also means it allows your makeup to wear really well.

Those little spheres in the bottle contain Vitamin C and E, which means it also has antioxidant properties that prevent premature ageing. This is especially great for women who have acne-prone skin because it will give you a ton of hydration without any breakouts. All you get is super soft, plumped up skin that looks healthy and happy. And what’s not to love about that?
