#BrokeBeautyLover: We Found A Tinted Lip Balm That Costs Rs. 180 Only And Works Like Magic
‘Tis the season of Christmas, winter and all things nice, except well, dry lips! As an adolescent, I didn’t have skin and lips so dry that can give Sahara Desert a stern competition. Then I grew up, and like several others, this problem too came creeping into my life. At that point, I didn’t take moisturising seriously but then I learnt the hard way. But learnt nonetheless.
Well, like most college girls, my “makeup pouch” comprised of the basics – an eyeliner and a lip balm – that I didn’t use. Don’t ask me why, because honestly, I am as clueless as you. Eventually, those lip balms went into the bin. For the longest time, I didn’t develop the habit of using a lip balm daily, until recently.
Even though I am not as poor as I used to be back in college, the peanuts that get credited to my bank account every month don’t allow me to splurge often. So here I was, looking for a lip balm that will keep my lips from chapping and pockets from perforating. Since winter was coming (not a Game of Thrones reference or maybe it is) I started looking for reasonable lip balms which would also provide colour. That’s when I came across Maybelline’s Baby Lips Bright Out Loud and I instantly became a fan.
The long roll on stick of lip balm looks cute AF with its very pretty packaging. I know they say don’t judge a book by its cover, but hell I was judging this balm on the basis of its looks and boy, was I right! Best part is they have three other shades you can try. Leaving the external details aside the price is what attracted me. I was aware of Maybelline being a drug store brand but Rs. 180 was a very reasonable price for a lip balm that lasted me for 2 months. And I can carry the thin and very neon-ish stick in my pocket. That made me remember to moisturise my lips every now and then.
The colour pay off of the product is amazing. For someone who loves lipsticks and wants to still hydrate their lips, like our Relationship Writer Akanksha who puts dollops of lip balm all day long – this product is a dream come true! It glides like butter onto your lips leaving your lips glossy. It also contains of SPF 13 which helps protect your lips from the sun. Yes, your lips need protection from the sun too. You’re welcome. I would suggest this product to anyone with dry lips or even those who just like to keep ’em kissable. It’s under your budget, moisturising and still makes you look like a diva.
