The Kiss-Perfect Lipstick We Are ‘Crushing’ On This Season
Bobbi Brown’s latest addition to the lipstick family has got me crushing on their lip colours like crazy! The Crushed Lip Color isn’t your average lipstick, it’s a lip stain which adds just the perfect hint of colour to the lips.
Although I am lipstick junkie (and I have admitted it a million times), sometimes I do feel my lips need a break from the really pigmented shades I usually wear. And since it is the holiday and party season, mixing it up a little feels like a great idea!
Bobbi Brown’s Crushed Lip Color comes in 20 different shades — the shade I picked out for the season was Lilac. Why? Because it’s the end of the year, so why not live a little and try out something I wouldn’t on a normal day! Let me just tell you, I was pleasantly surprised with my choice.
First of all, the whole point of this lipstick is to not provide an overpowering pigment, but to add just the right amount of colour to the lips, leaving them with a lovely bright stain. What I really liked is that the pigment is impactful enough to provide a sheen, however it isn’t loud at all — giving you the perfect stained effect.
Secondly, since I am a matte fan (and this product is matte), I liked the fact that there’s a moisturising element to it. This is an essential for me in my lipsticks, especially during winter. The lipstick glides on like butter, and its new formula consisting of Vitamins C and E, and beeswax basically nourishes my lips, leaving them hydrated instantly.
It is also super lightweight, making it feel more like a lip balm, rather than a lipstick!
