Our Favourite Beauty Looks From The Femina Beauty Awards!
What’s a beauty awards night without some killer beauty looks, right? The Nykaa Femina Beauty Awards 2016 happened last night and some of our favourite celebrities gave us some kickass beauty and hair goals. Most of the looks had soft, neutral make-up reigning supreme. Is it a sign that 2016 is going to be about natural-looking, radiant looks?
I’ve been noticing that the trend is shifting towards using make-up to bring out your inner beauty instead of wanting to mask your natural beauty, and I heartily welcome this trend. Check out what these Bollywood leading ladies looked like last night!
Aditi Rao Hydari
One of the few actresses to wear a fiery red pout often, Aditi looked dainty by keeping the rest of her make-up subtle and soft. I liked the centre-parted, half up-half down hair.
Pairing red with red is tricky, and few fare well in such a powerful look. But Amyra came out with flying colours by keeping it classy with black winged-tip eyeliner and some high intensity strobing. I heart!
There’s no denying that Athiya looked like a Disney princess in that gown, and full marks to her make-up artist for pairing it with soft curls and a baby pink pout. Se wore pretty brown smokey eyes that held the rest of her look together.
When you are this pretty, you don’t really need much to look radiant. The basic black eyeliner and a pair of falsies bring out the green in Ellie’s eyes so well. Some bronzer on the apple of her cheeks and glossy lips give her a sun-kissed look.
Wearing a predominantly brown ensemble with neutral brown make-up is risky. You just might look pale and washed out. But Shibani Dandekar being her sassy self looked stunning in nude lips, brown smokey eyes and iridescent skin. Take note people, neutral make-up is the IT thing in 2016.
Graphic eyeliner was a big thing in 2015, and I’m glad Sona wore it to the awards night. After all, nothing is more fierce than graphic eyes. She paired it with nude lips and bronzed skin. I approve!
Sophie opted for a oldie but goldie glamorous look and it paid off well. Soft smokey eyes (I like the hint of shimmery charcoal grey under the lower lashline), flushed cheeks and salmon pink lips coupled with the romantic updo. She looked beautiful.
Sunny also opted for a neutral make-up look (damn, we are going to have to master this real soon) and she looked like a million bucks! But what had my attention was the milkmaid braids she wore with a few loose, face-framing tendrils around her hairline. Her hair were indeed her crowning glory.
Waluscha De Sousa
Wearing her hair in a neat and sleek pulled-back bun, Waluscha looked fresh-faced with pink glossy lips and a hint of smudged liner in the outer corners of her eyes. I love how her glossy skin adds to her radiance.
