1. Lip Balm

If you’re looking for a nourishing product that will keep your lips soft and moisturised, then a lip balm is what you need. Made out of a wax-like substance, these products are either clear or come with a slight tint that add a little colour to the lips.

2. Lip Gloss

Lip gloss creates a glossier effect on your lips, with and without the pigment. It makes the lips look more oomphmatic and sultry, while providing that shiny, glass-like effect.

Traditionally, lip glosses were clear or would have minimal pigment in them, but lately, many lip glosses available have a strong tint — giving it a 2-1 combo of a glossy finish, as well as a whole lot of colour!

3. Lip Stain

As the name suggests, lip stains are only meant to stain your lips with the desired colour. Usually in liquid or gel format, a lip stain basically allows for a longer lasting finish and an application that does not really require any touch-ups.

However, stains do tend to dry out the lips, so if you’re one who suffers from chapped lips, I’d steer clear of this one.

4. Lipstick

The classic lipstick is one that cannot be given a miss! Lipsticks are pigments in a more pasty, solid format — the great thing about a lipstick is that it comes in various finishes such as matte, satin, velvet, semi-matte…we could go on!

5. Lip powder

The newest hybrid to the lot is the powder in a lip gradation format. A wand-like structure with an applicator at the end, the powder usually contains some oils that nourish the lips, while providing a matte effect.

The pigment can vary depending on the amount of product applied, making it super buildable and easily blendable.

6. Lip Pencil

Lip pencils were mainly designed to outline your lips in order to create a definition to fill in some colour. The pencil sort of acts like a stencil for your lipstick.

Breaking away from the old trend of actually making your lips look outlined, nowadays many people use their pencils to get a little colour on their lips.

If an outright pigment is not what you’re looking for, then colour in your lips with a pencil.
