6 Makeup Hacks Only Beauty Bloggers Know

6 Makeup Hacks Only Beauty Bloggers Know

Ever have those days where you look at influencer Instagram handles, and are just like… how is their makeup so perfect? I know the feels. And as a makeup artist, I can assure you that some hacks may be gimmicky, but there are a few makeups hacks that literally, every beauty guru knows! They’re the holy grail of makeup application and will lead to that flawless Insta selfie.

Ready to turn up your makeup game? Take a look at 6 beauty hacks that beauty bloggers swear by.

1. The Blender Hack

Still using a dry sponge? You’re doing it all wrong. We’ve all come to know and love beauty blenders, and the several other sponges, that offer us seamless application of everything from corrector to foundation and concealer. Well, let me tell you, no expert uses a dry sponge!

Wet your sponge, lightly, to make sure it’s saturated with water. This way, it won’t soak up extra foundation off your skin. Now, you save more product and get more coverage!

2. The Spot You Might Be Missing

Okay, so you’ve finally found the perfect correcting concealer for your under-eye area, but you still look aged or tired? While the discoloration directly under your eye may be corrected, you want to dab some around your nose (the nostril area and around the nasolabial fold) for a bright and youthful appearance. It makes a world of difference!

Ariul 7 Days Mask – Pomegranate (Rs 140)

3. The Pre-Makeup Regimen

We usually use masks on our day off or during sleepovers, right? Well, a good makeup artist knows that hydrated skin is the secret to a good base. So, put on a peel-off mask or you favourite sheet mask pre-makeup and watch as your base goes on like magic!

That being said, don’t use a chemical peel with AHA / BHA / retinol. And don’t use a spot treatment, basically, anything that could peel your skin, because that would have the opposite effect.

IsaDora Brow Shaping Gel – 62 Dark Brown (Rs 850)

4. The Brow Gel Secret

You love brow gel for being a miracle brow product, but did you know of its multi-tasking properties? Well, not only can you use it on your brows, but also on your lashes as a primer or, even better, to tame flyaways while pulling your hair into a tight bun or pony. This will slick down frizz when used with a light hand, and fill in tiny bald spots, giving your hairstyle an upgrade.

L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Spray & Set Makeup Extender (Rs 999)

5. The Setting Spray Hack

Of course, we use setting spray after our makeup is done to lock it all in. But if you’ve got an extreme skin type, you’ll know how annoying it is to get your makeup to stay. Well, experts say you can use the spray on your sponge or brush, while applying concealer or foundation to double-set the product. Genius or what?

6. The Mascara Hack

Don’t fret, it happens to the best of us! Just mix in 2 to 3 drops of contact lens solution, twist the tube shut, and shake well. Voila! You’ll have your mascara back in no time.
