5 Easy Step-By-Step Festive Makeup Tutorials To Try If You’re A Beginner Like Me

Don’t look now, but Diwali is almost here. If your cleaning is not done, you’re already too late to the party.  The festive season also means that a of lot decision making has to happen. You have to decide what to wear, when to wear and then decide on a Youtube tutorial you can actually nail. With my limited makeup skills, I can only impress the people who are looking to create a whole look with like, lip balm. My skills at applying makeup maybe questionable but no one can fault my ability to watch makeup tutorials that keep me up till 3 AM, I am a pro at it.

But, I think that my basic AF skills are not enough for the festive season. You need to be more out there with your look. On Instagram, I have seen people apply their eyeshadow like it’s the easiest thing in the world, but let me tell you, it’s a lie.

I thought, ‘let’s not get intimidated by their skills, they are professionals and I am not.’ At least, that’s what I tell myself. So, I went on YouTube to check out some easy yet gorgeous festive makeup tutorials that I can actually try. The nice girl that I am I will share a few with you guys too. Calm down, there’s no need for applause and all.

Shreya Jain is one of the most talented ones in the Indian beauty Youtube community.  She is genuine with what she does and also throws in plenty of tips and tricks in her videos that are plenty helpful. In this video, she mentions that she will teach us the basic technique of getting this makeup look and that we can, later on, tweak this according to the attire that we wear. If you are a beginner, then I would suggest you start off with this makeup tutorial as it’s super easy to do.

Okay, before I start off I would like to say that I have never related to someone so hard while doing their makeup as much as I did with her. At the beginning of her video, she mentions she is not good at makeup, but that’s every modest person ever. The best part about this video is that she gives us two easy options to choose from. The makeup may look very basic, but it does give you the glam look at the end.

If you want something traditional, then this one is for you. This may look super complicated but is frankly, child’s play when you look at the video. I personally love the colour combinations she has used on her lids to completely bring out all the festive feels. I almost mistook her for a bride with all that jewellery on her, but if you are not planning to go that heavy on the jewellery, then you are good to go.

Here’s another one of the bloggers that I really admire. I love how her makeup looks are so on point. And this festive look is no different. If you love to keep your makeup minimal and around nude colours, then this one is for you, and you don’t have to necessarily wear this look only during the festive season, you can also wear it on the daily and get your glam look on point. What I am saying is, this is wearable glam.

Your makeup skills will continue to be questioned until you do not learn how to do smokey eyes. At the start of the video, Ankita gives some tips on how to get your skin to normal before you start applying makeup on your face. I have never managed to pull off a smokey eye look, but after watching this video, there might be a bit of hope for you and me.
