10 Celeb Beauty Looks From Filmfare We’re Obsessing Over

10 Celeb Beauty Looks From Filmfare We’re Obsessing Over

The holiday season in the last few months of every year that lead up to the party season and finally AWARD season in the first two months is my favourite time of the year. First of all the weather is perfect. Well, not really, but even a little respite from the heat and humidity in balmy Bombay is a welcome change. Secondly, this is perhaps the best time for celeb spotting (I wonder why they go into hiding after this). So it’s that time of the year again, when our stars come out in full force and last night was no different. The 2016 Filmfare Awards gave us an array of knockout looks. Here’s what we saw and loved!

Neha Dhupia Filmfare 2016_Hauterfly

Neha Dhupia

Although some people might think this look from Dhupia is underwhelming, I loved it. Poker straight hair, you will always have a soft corner in my heart! Those gorgeously glossy locks coupled with stark black shadow could have easily looked goth. However, the bare lower lid and flirty lashes prevented it from being so. The peachy blush and flesh-coloured lipstick added to the minimalist-chic look.

Patralekha Filmfare 2016_Hauterfly

Patralekha

Patralekha and understated beauty go hand-in-hand. I love how radiantly flushed her skin looks. She is the perfect example of how your hair and make-up should complement your outfit.

Taapsee Pannu Filmfare 2016_Hauterfly

Taapsee Pannu

There’s something inherently romantic about this charming Victorian hairstyle that Taapsee wore with her embellished gown. The deep middle-part softly frames her face. Going with neutrals in the make-up department was a good way of letting her outfit shine.

Kriti Sanon Filmfare 2016_Hauterfly

Kriti Sanon

The one actress who plays up her young vibe apart from Alia Bhatt has to be Kriti Sanon. Her hair and make-up is always softly smoked. I particularly love the ring of well-blended, shimmery silver eyeliner in the inner corners and lower lid of her eye. It is so brightening. Special mention to her hairstylist for the twisted undercut and loose waves.

Jacqueline Fernandez Filmfare 2016_Hauterfly

Jacqueline Fernandez

The first thing that caught my eye about Jackie was her beautifully flushed cheeks which is 2016. The nude lipstick-black eyeliner combo, and some kickass strobing is how she did the rest of her face. Looks like flushed cheeks, radiant skin, and neutral-nude make-up ruled the night.

Raveena Tandon Filmfare 2016_Hauterfly

Raveena Tandon

I’m so used to seeing Tandon in heavily made-up eyes and a bold lip colour, that this look put me in a jaw-drop situation. This is it guys. This is the final nail in the coffin for the smokey eyes trend that has dominated red-carpet looks for SOOO long. While I have nothing against the smokey eye look, it’s refreshing to see this minimal black eyeliner-coral lipstick look on Raveena.

Ileana D'Cruz Filmfare 2016_Hauterfly

Ileana D’Cruz

It is de rigueur to pair a red ensemble with nude lipstick which is why I love Ileana’s rebellious red on red pairing. She hit bull’s eye with her smokey grey eyes, brick red lipstick, and a voluminous updo.

Alia Bhatt

I love the shoulder-length, big, bouncy curls that were styled in a deep part and set in place with bobby pins. However, Alia did good in going for strong brown-black smokey eyes. It made her look doe-eyed and stopped her from looking schoolgirl-ish. The touch of coral-pink lipstick was also a great decision.

Huma Qureshi Inset Filmfare 2016_Hauterfly

Huma Qureshi

One celeb who’s been making all the right sartorial choices lately definitely has to be Huma Qureshi. Last night too, her hair and make-up were #onpoint. What I really liked though, was her sleek. low-slung ponytail accessorised by a stack of bobby pins a la Khloe Kardashian’s high fashion ponytail.

Deepika Padukone Inset Filmfare 2016_Hauterfly

Deepika Padukone

Women have always looked up to Deepika as a beauty star. The number of times I have been asked to recreate her voluminous-on-the-top updo is insane. Deepika has been looking extremely tan and undoubtedly, gorgeous in the last few days. In a nation where looking pasty white equates to beauty, I’m really keeping my fingers crossed that people take to this trend seriously. Her shiny, and sleek bun, coupled with that gorgeous all-over tan and bold red lips made her the star of the evening!
