Priyanka Bose is not your run-of-the-mill, dancing-around-trees kind of Bollywood actress — nosirree. The sultry, dusky artist has been around for a while, making waves in theatre and off-beat cinema, and today, everyone is talking about her, everyone wants to dress her, and everyone wants to talk to her — including us.
Priyanka’s latest outing, one that has travelled the world and finally releases in India tomorrow, is already generating Oscar buzz — Lion is a moving film about an adopted boy (Dev Patel) who, with the help of Google Earth, sets out to find his lost family, some 25 years later. And guess who Priyanka plays in the film? Dev’s biological mother. Ever imagine any of the current crop of B-town babes playing a current hero’s mom? Yeah, didn’t think so.
