WTF! Gujarat HC Hits A New Low With This Ruling On Marital Rape

‘Sex with wife without consent is not rape.’

Gujarat HC passed the above ruling yesterday, and left the whole country in shock. Justice J B Pardiwala decided that under IPC section 375, a man cannot be charged for rape if he has non-consensual sex with his wife. Oh, provided the wife is above 18 years of age.

This case came into the limelight after a doctor filed an FIR against her husband accusing him of rape. But the court quashed the FIR, leaving the woman (and women everywhere) appalled.

The judgement highlights all the possible loopholes in our judicial system, and the low mindset of those who are in power. According to the judge, ”unscrupulous” women can misuse this law, and the system has to ensure that doesn’t happen. I mean, they have to save the men from characterless women, right?

Basically, marriage is a sure-shot license for women to become rape targets, and fuel the desires of men who just can’t keep it in their pants. They need to have sex to function as human beings, even if it means forcing themselves on their wives.

Everything about this ruling is so cringe-worthy that I’ve mentally hanged him on a wall, and thrown darts at him about a million times! Sorry, not sorry for the graphic thoughts.

The ruling is another win for the patriarchy, and another reason why feminism is more than just the need of the hour.
