There’s A New Moschino Barbie Coming Next Week!
Here’s some fantastically fun news. After designing a playful Spring 2015 collection that was a tribute to this legendary doll, Italian label Moschino has teamed up with toy manufacturer Mattel to produce a capsule collection of Barbie dolls dressed in the brand’s trendy clothes. The doll’s new Moschino closet collectibles include graphic T-shirts, logo-trimmed mesh leggings, pencil skirts, chain-strap handbags, over-the-top gold jewellery, and a quilted black moto jacket.
But that’s not the best part. If you’re so inclined, you can even buy those pieces for yourself! A full-sized ready-t0-wear capsule collection of the same pieces – as well two collector’s edition Moschino Barbie dolls decked out in branded swag – will be available to shop starting November 9, only on Net-A-Porter.
“With these dolls I wanted to bring all the Moschino elements to Barbie’s world, which is the reverse of what we imagined for the Spring 2015 collection which brought Barbie elements to Moschino’s world,” Scott told PeopleStyle. In fact, the designer even admitted that it was the doll who lead him to become a designer in the first place. “The thing I love about Barbie is that she is the ultimate muse and inspired me to become a designer. Moschino style is all about humour coupled with high fashion and Barbie allows us to play out these looks in whole new way.”
While you wait for the collection to drop online soon, take a look below at Jeremy Scott and Moschino’s love affair with Barbie.
