Arundhati Roy Is Back With A New Novel After 2 Decades!

Arundhati Roy, the dynamic author who has given a lot of young girls some serious literary inspiration, is all set to publish her second novel, The Ministry Of Utmost Happiness. It took her a good 19 years to finally grace the world with her beautiful words and I just hope it is worth the wait!

Hamish Hamilton UK and Penguin India released a joint statement announcing that the new novel will be published by them in 2017. Talking about the novel, the statement read, “The writing is extraordinary and so are the characters — brought to life with such generosity and empathy, in language of the utmost freshness, joyfully reminding us that words are alive too, that they can wake us up and lend us new ways of seeing, feeling, hearing, engaging. It makes the novel new — in the original meaning of novels.”

All these years, Roy has been busy with social and political work, trying to change the world in her unique way! She definitely looks excited about this book, and after the massive success of The God Of Small Things, we are too! Her literary agent David Godwin agrees with us, “Only Arundhati could have written this novel. Utterly original. It has been 20 years in the making. And well worth the wait.”
