The App That We’re Playing On An Infinite Loop!

Tired of using the same ol’, boring apps? Keep up with the hottest new app launches and rediscover old favourites with Appturday! Appturday’s a weekly post from our Social Media Editor where she rants, raves, and shares the apps she’s currently into.

Ask any fossil and they’ll tell you that the problem with our generation is our incessant need to connect. Whether it’s connecting with friends over social media, connecting with potential hook-ups or soulmates over dating apps, or finding a job, I think us ’90s kids can be called ‘Gen Connect’, because we’re in an infinite process of connecting, all the time.

Following this chain of thought, this week’s app ∞ Infinity Loop is a perfect combination of stress relief and gaming, and is all about connecting the dots and creating calming patterns out of chaos. Users are provided with a puzzle comprising a series of dots, your objective is to connect all the lines and corners to make perfect connections. It’s essentially a grown-up version of our favourite childhood game, Tetris. Without the multi-coloured acid trip, thank you very much. What I love is the stress-free nature of the game — it allows me to zone out and get out of whatever mood I am in, without awakening my usual competitive spirit.

What’s best about the game is that it’s wickedly addictive, it’s been one of the trending apps of 2016, and for good reason. If you’re an overachiever of sorts, know that there are infinite levels, so there’s no chance of you ever ‘finishing’, per se. The levels increase in difficulty, but not so much so that you’re taxing your little noggin. Take a cue from me and play this game at night, to lull yourself into a deep, restive slumber.

Available on Android and iOS.
