The Houseparty App Is Gonna Make Your Life SO Much Better!

By  |

Tired of using the same ol’, boring apps? Keep up with the hottest new app launches and rediscover old favourites with Appturday! Appturday’s a weekly post from our Social Media Editor where she rants, raves, and shares the apps she’s currently into.

Ever since my friends started moving away for jobs and better opportunities, it’s been a bit of a hassle coordinating time differences, schedules, and connecting with more than one friend at a time begins to take a toll of friendships. You know how it goes, from talking every day to eventually “catching up” once a month or year.

Don’t worry, because I got your back with this week’s pick, the Houseparty app! From the makers of Meerkat comes a new app that’s going to change the way you chat with your friends. Gone are the days of laggy video chats with friends where you’re stuck with a screenshot of your friend’s face, and the conversation goes from life events to wifi connects. Yuck! Houseparty lives up to its snappy young name and allows you to connect with up to 8 of your pals over video chat at the same time. Does that sound like a party, or what?

What drew me to the app is its sheer simplicity. You follow a standard sign up process, add your contacts, and then you’re ready to party! Once you or your friends go online on the app, you can start the conversation. See, isn’t it simple AF?

Chats are conducted in private rooms, so that eliminates the chance of random people interrupting, and adds a welcome layer of security. Pro level tip: you can even mute notifications from clingy friends, and the best part is that they won’t even know you’ve muted them. You can always go back later and say hi!

I recommend you give the Houseparty app a try for the sheer convenience, and watch as your social life flourishes!

Available for iOS and Android!
