The Epicurious App Will Help Bring Out The Master Chef In You!

Tired of using the same ol’, boring apps? Keep up with the hottest new app launches and rediscover old favourites with Appturday! Appturday’s a weekly post from our Social Media Editor where she rants, raves, and shares the apps she’s currently into. This week, we cover the Epicurious Recipes & Food Videos App!
I love cooking, it’s hands down the most therapeutic activity you can indulge in that’s parent approved. What’s even better is that after receiving the numerous therapeutic benefits of cooking, you have food. Food that you’ve created, with your own hands — if that’s not a delicious benefit, I don’t know what is. When it’s comes to cooking, finding the right recipe is as good as winning half of the cooking battle. Since there’s a plethora and then some options that you can choose from, I’ve undertaken the noble task of telling you about one of my favourite cooking apps, Epicurious. You can thank me in the comments section. No. Seriously!

For the uninitiated, Epicurious is a mecca for all things food, boasting over 30,000 curated recipes from top publishers like Bon Appetit, Gourmet, and HarperCollins. An ever-growing community, it gives you expert cooking advice that’ll up your kitchen game. What makes the app special is that it takes the killer web experience and translates it into an easy-to-use app that’ll have you hooked, booked, and cooked!

As a part-time food noob, I really love the ‘Smart Kitchen Timer’, which informs you of the cooking times for various dishes, and takes the guesswork out of treading that line between raw and over cooked. Another fave is the ‘Recipe Box’ where I can save my favourites and stalk new recipes. For days when I’m particularly uninspired, I’ll either scroll through the daily recipe feed, or play around with the seasonal ingredients finder. Also, what’s notable is how easy the app is to use while you’re in the process of cooking. I’ve tried it tons of times and have thankfully not dropped my phone into a dish…yet. So go ahead and give this week’s #Appturday pick a try, let me know what you think in the comments below.
