Tired of using the same ol’, boring apps? Keep up with the hottest new app launches and rediscover old favourites with Appturday! Appturday’s a weekly post from our Social Media Editor where she rants, raves, and shares the apps she’s currently into. Today we’re covering the Blinkist apps!
We’re kickstarting career and college month here at the Hauterfly HQ, and what better way to get the ball rolling than with my app du jour? Like any self-respecting #GirlBoss, I’m constantly on the lookout for apps that help me stay on top of my game, with minimal effort.
IMHO, the Blinkist app is the epitome of such apps that not only make life easier, but do it in a simple, smart manner.
The funda of Blinkist is that it takes a library of non-fiction books and condenses big ideas into a tiny package called ‘Blinks’. Each book is transformed into powerful packs you can read or listen to in just 15 minutes. Yup, it’s really that epic!
Genres cover everything from Personal Growth to Economics, Science, Health, and even Tech. Choose from trending books, curated lists, and see what’s new, all on the homepage of the app.
When I gave Blinkist a spin, I managed to cover 3 books in the hour that it usually takes me to travel from work to home, and it made me realise how much time I waste every day.
I must say, from the few books I listened to, the Blinks are very well done. They’re informative and feature many actionable points while really capturing the essence of the book.
So, if you’re looking for a way to get smarter without too much effort, I’d recommend you download Blinkist. Sure, it’s no substitute for going out and buying the book, but then again, what is?
Blinkist is available for iOS and Android devices.
