#HauteSounds: What We’re Listening To In June

Another week… wait… another MONTH… has gone by, and a new month sure calls for some new music. I love making playlists of my favourite tracks every so often. to make my listening experience both interesting and fun. So if you want to know what to listen to when it’s cloudy outside this June, I’m here to help. Take it from me: these sassy new numbers will lift your spirits and have you grooving instantly. I’m listening to them on loop, and once you give them a listen you’ll know why! Here’s the list.

1. Martin Garrix & Third Party — Lions In The Wild

If you’re one of those who waits for the beat to drop and then go crazy, this song is made for you. It’s the kind of track that makes you want to get up and dance, regardless of where you are. Directed by Giaro Giarratana and Damian Karsznia, the video unfolds across a desert, with some beautiful silhouettes appearing and disappearing in every frame. In a nutshell, this song HAS to be a part of your playlist for June.

 2. Clean Bandit & Louisa Johnson — Tears

Louisa Johnson, the winner of the 12th edition of The X Factor, has teamed up with Clean Bandit to give you a wonderful new electro-pop mix. We don’t need to tell you about her vocal talents; shes’s proved her mettle on the reality singing show. Apart from being incredibly catchy, the song is also a perfect one to sing to your ex!

3. Chance The Rapper — Angels

Also featuring Chicago-based rapper Saba, Angels is one of my favourites this month. The rap is both refreshing and likeable. The video is all about Chance soaring around a cloud-filled sky, before landing atop a train and riding around the city. The fun visuals go well with the rhythm and the beats of the song. This one’s a fixer-upper for every kind of mood.

4. Sigala feat. John Newman & Nile Rodgers — Give Me Your Love

With the cityscape being a predominant feature in the video, this is probably the most beautifully shot music video I’ve seen yet. Bruce Fielder a.k.a Sigala comes together with legends John Newman and Nile Rodgers for a hop-n-bob number that’s so fun. If this song doesn’t have you moving out of your seat and dancing away, I don’t know what will!

 5. Flume feat. Vic Mensa — Lose It

Australian DJ Flume collaborates with Chicago rapper Vic Mensa for an electrifying song. The visuals, which include image upon image of an unfurling pink and purple flower/plant, aren’t the only things that’ll have you hooked. Mensa’s engaging rap bits and the powerful dance beats make this an ultimate party number.
