Wear Jeans, Get Transgender Babies: Kerala Professor

Hey Kerala, what’s up with your professors? I mean, these guys are supposed to be the educated, elite, so, maybe, just maybe, they shouldn’t be spouting some spectacularly sexist rubbish. But that’s just us expecting too much perhaps.

We wrote about this professor who talked about women’s cleavage being like watermelons (yes, read about it here) and while we were still trying to wrap our heads around it, another professor from Kerala is in the news. And here’s why.

Dr. Rajith Kumar (yes, there’s a doctor before his name) has been airing his chauvinistic views with impunity, but he may have taken it too far with his latest claim. The man believes, and without flinching states, he has scientific data to back the fact that

women who wear jeans and “degrade their womanhood in the process”, give birth to transgender kids.

In a video where he appears to be addressing a public gathering, he confidently says “…a woman who dresses up like a man. What will be the character of the child this woman gives birth to? The name of these children is ‘transgender’ or ‘napumsakam’. Hijra. Already, more than 6 lakh transgender people have been born in Kerala.”

By the way, if you thought this was tragic, you’ll be gobsmacked by the irony that this man conducts ‘health awareness’ classes in Kerala. The Kerala government has taken cognisance of the fact that this man may be talking through his backside, and is considering taking action.

We can’t even shake our heads enough.
