Imran Khan’s Thoughts On Feminism Have Left Us Stumped!

There is an erudite gentleman by the name of Imran Khan grabbing headlines in Pakistan, and now around the world for his lovely insights on the definition of feminism. Imran Khan’s claim to fame are not these very path-breaking comments, he is actually known for getting married and divorced. Oh wait, no, not for that only. He also played cricket for Pakistan once.

Recently, Imran Khan gave an interview on a TV channel where his deep research into the subject of feminism shone through. He said, “A mother has biggest influence on a person …A real mother, that is. I completely disagree with this Western concept, this feminist movement… it has degraded the role of a mother…when I was growing up my mother had the most impact on me.”

Let’s break this down into understandable bits. He talks about mothers being the biggest influence on a person. We agree. A real mother, he says. You can fake motherhood? Do you just have a baby pop out of you and not know it? Anyway, maybe he knows something we don’t. Then, he explains that feminism is a western concept because why would we want equality in Eastern countries? He further schools us on the fact that it degrades the role of a mother. We are not even going to attempt explaining this, mainly because we don’t understand what this means.

Look Imran Khan, we all have mothers. And we want equality. And we think the two get along fabulously. So, let’s just disagree.

Seen it all?
