7 Hangover Remedies To Keep You Going In 2017

It’s the last week of the year. Goodbye, shitty 2016. And you’ve been indulging yourself in major ragers! You wake up and you have no recollection of how you wandered back home last night.

However, last night’s high drastically turns into today’s low with a throbbing headache. We all wish there was some sort of a wizardry cure for hangovers. There is no authoritative diagnosis for a hangover cure. Although there is one confirmed cure: time. It usually takes 8-24 hours for the symptoms to die out. Well, if you’re about to overindulge on some bubbly tonight as well, here’s a list of steps to help you with the morning-after.

1. Coconut Water

Ever wondered why you wake up with a throbbing headache after a heavy night of binge drinking? Dehydration. Coconut is high in potassium and smoother to the stomach, so it helps in rehydrating your system.

2. Coffee

If you’re addicted to caffeine, you might be experiencing a headache. A hangover leaves you tired and agitates your sleep cycle. Make sure you have a coffee pot brewing the minute you’re awake!

3. Sports Drink

Excess of alcohol can lead to electrolyte imbalance. Sports drinks like Gatorade contain electrolytes that help your system rehydrate faster than just water. We’d recommend drinking it before you go out and at the end of your night, if you’re not too plastered.

4. No More Alcohol

This assuredly numbs your pain, but it only perpetuates your doomed hangover and makes your headache worse. Experts say that if this is your go-to cure, you’re increasing your chances of turning into an alcoholic!

5. Greasy Food

What you eat after tanking up those killer shots actually decides or subsides your hangover the next day. Food comforts the absention of alcohol. So go all out with the double cheese burgers and pizzas, we say.

6. Exercise

I know this sounds like breaking bad, but trust us, breaking some sweat is actually a good idea to get rid of that painful hangover. Exercising releases good endorphins that hike up your energy and mood. Put in a light gym session, drink plenty of water, and end your workout with a 15-minute steam and sauna session. You’ll thank us for this!

7. Sex

Of course, there is no guaranteed proof that sex cures a hangover, but it sure as hell makes time fly. Remember it takes 8-24 hours for your symptoms to subside. If it makes you happy, go for it!
