Here’s Where You Can Get The Best Ramen Bowl In Mumbai!

Chef Kelvin Cheung has already made a name for himself in Mumbai’s culinary scene. After the stupendous success of Ellipsis he moved on to launch both One Street Over and Bastian, both of which have already got hungry patrons eating out of the palms of his hands. One would think the chef would be content and take a breather. But it doesn’t look like it! Chef Cheung, along with Chef Boo Kim, have now put their heads together to whip up a delicious Asian menu at One Street Over, Bandra and it’s everything you could have dreamed of!

Keeping in mind the current season, the Chefs have created a number of new dishes, especially including Asian specialties that are perfect for the monsoons. Think meals in a bowl, yummy sweet bread, and spicy hot noodles! Yes, it’s all of that and more. I think you’d better hurry up for a wonderful experience.

Wondering what to expect? You can find here a variety of delicious options, like the vegetarian and non-vegetarian baos. The Crispy Chicken Bao comes served with butter pickles and animal sauce while The Tofu Bao is served with chilli soy garlic, and gunpowder served with house-made jairdenara relish. If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, you mus try the Gluten Free Zucchini Savoury Pancakes served with squash, jalapeno, scallions and sesame soy.

But the star of the show is the ramen bowl. For those of you aren’t aware of what ramen is, it’s basically a hearty noodle soup dish and no one does it better than Cheung. The Pork Miso Ramen — whole-wheat ramen noodles with pork belly and soft poached egg — seems to be very popular. Vegetarians like me can opt for the Tempura Vegetable Udon served with soy dashi, tempura crunch, and scallions. For chicken lovers, the Spicy Chicken Tsukemen is bound to delight.

And of course, what is a meal without some wholesome dessert? One Street Over’s selection of man buns are definitely worth a try. The Vanilla Man Bun comes with scoops of vanilla ice cream, streusel, cereal, and condensed milk. The Chocolate Man Bun, with chocolate ice cream, chocolate chips, chocolate ganache, and salted caramel sounds yummy. The Coffee Man Bun (which to me sounds like a dream!), is served with espresso ice cream, coffee crumbs, Jameson, Baileys and real candied nuts!

All the dishes are priced between Rs 400-700, exclusive of taxes. If I were you, I’d head over to the gastro pub ASAP to snag myself a couple of man buns!
