#HauteSpaces: Mojo’s Bistro’s Classy Vibes And Delicious Food

Who doesn’t love a pretty home/work space? I know the answer to that one. So now, every week, I will go in search of the most stunning indoor spaces in our country that will inspire the inner decorator in you. Unique, colourful, or quirky, these photo stories are sure to leave you spellbound, like mouth-hanging-open spellbound. If you know or use a space that fits the description, ping me and we can chat! It can be anything from a home to an office, a studio to a restaurant — if it is fun, I’m game.

The latest restaurant to join Lower Parel’s roster of eateries in Mumbai is Mojo’s Bistro. The vibrant yet romantic rooftop restaurant is owned by Siddharth Mahadevan, Shankar Mahadevan’s son. So, right off the bat you know that this place will have great music.

Not so hidden in the lanes of the famous Kamala Mills Compound, this one sits on the 2nd-floor terrace of the Kamala Trade House, surrounded by skyscrapers, making you feel extremely tiny. To enter this bistro, you need to walk through another restaurant, The Frontier Post, that will open sometime next month.

Once in, you immediately know that your dinner experience will be a good one. White sofas and chairs dominate the décor and, to add a pop of drama, the colour of the cushions are changed week on week, yellow this time and maybe, purple next!

With different seating options, guests can choose from high raise seats or a low setting. The bar is right in the centre in a rectangle format, letting the bartenders show off their magic. The DJ’s deck is constructed on a higher platform than the rest of the space, literally making it grab all the eyeballs.

The private/group seating area, bordered by white curtains, is perfect for a gathering and to celebrate the birthday of that special someone.

With the ambience on point, the food did justice to the beautiful space too. Presented on the craftily designed crockery by Feather Touch Ceramics, Chef Vishal Chandani’s creations came to life.

From succulent appetisers like Murg Par Luft, which was chicken cooked in a clay oven and coated with cheese, Mushroom and Galauti Kebabs, and a scrumptious Hummus platter plus salmon sushi, your evenings there will kickstart with some soul pleasing food.

That teamed with the tasty sangrias, cocktails, and an array of mocktails, there really is little room for anything to go wrong. Dive into spiced prawns, or an Asian wok, or maybe some Butter Chicken flatbread to take your dinner towards the finish line.

And complete it with a blueberry cheesecake and some chocolate macaroons to tingle that sweet tooth.

This space checks all the boxes, from interiors to the yummy food, and is worth spending an evening at. Head to the outlet and let us know what you think about it in the comments below!
