Archie And The Gang Are Back…But With A Dark Twist
Looks like 2017 is already a great year for us ’90s kids. First, the news of Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys making a comeback and now, everyone’s favourite comic characters are coming to life. Archie, Jughead, Betty, and Veronica are going to be part of our daily conversations once again, and we just CANNOT KEEP CALM. Don’t we all miss pop and his burgers? This time, however, it is going to be a Netflix show called Riverdale (the name of the town they live in), that is starting on January 26. It is releasing in UK and Canada but, before you get sad, it premieres on Colors Infinity for the Indian viewers January 27 at 7 pm. Yay!
But hold that happy dance. The plot is very, and I mean drastically, different from what we saw in the comics and cartoon series. Riverdale is now knee-deep in horrifying secrets and revolves around a murder mystery. There is a lot of chemistry between the trio and let me tell you, the characters have sure grown up (hint — threesome). So, whether or not watching fights, controversies, murders, and sex scenes on a show that is full of childhood memories will be a good change or bad, only time will tell. For now, we are excited AF!
The show is brought to you by CW, an American broadcasting company, directed by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and executive produced by Greg Berlanti. We sure can expect some serious twists, as the show is from the makers of Vampire Diaries and Gossip Girl. Proof? Watch the trailer below and you’ll now what I mean.
